After Silas arrived at the workplace , he quickly wrapped up his tutoring and made his way back to the adventurer's guild. He had made 2 Silver coins from that , just enough to pay for a simple magic class.
After some more walking , Silas arrived at the Guild
"Finally done with that , i should immediatly pay for the magic classes , im too inpatient for magic haha."
Silas walked inside and walked up to the receptionist once again
"Hello again , im back with enough money for the magic classes" Silas said to the young girl behind the counter
"Already back , huh? Well , as previously mentioned , it'll be 2 silver coins for a basic magic class."
Silas hands his newfound money to the receptionist "Alrighty , here"
"Perfect , follow me , i will lead you to the classroom in the back of the guild building"
After Silas followed the young girl , he arrived at the classroom and entered it. Suprisingly enough , there were lots of people. "Huh... It seems that being from another world does not make me much stupider..." Silas mumbled to himself
The girl instruced Silas to sit down left. After around 5 minutes of waiting , a old man with a nicely designed white robe came up onto the stage in the middle of the class
"Hello everyone , i'll be your teacher for today , my name is profesor 'Ollin' , and i will be teaching you the basics or magic , basic spells , and the way to gather mana and increase your stages." Said Ollin
"First off , stages , Stages are a way to measure a mage's mana and there are a total of 11 stages. Mana is measured in numbers. Usualy , stage 1 mage novices have around 10 mana , and the very talented have up to 50. Breaking through a stage increases your mana amount by 4 times. It also increases mana output , making magic more deadly and profficient. Keep in mind every stage is harder to obtain than the last one." he continued
Silas , albeit being pretty confused , understood how it worked pretty quickly.
"Now , gathering mana is the most important thing. As some of you know , mana can be increased in various ways , either being in a life-threatening situation or just excersising , however , the most effective one is called "Ley exchange". It is pretty confusing so focus." Ollin began explaining
Ley exchanging , its a way to gather mana into your body the quickest way. "Ley" is basically raw mana , and it can be found in 3 forms.
In the atmosphere , like the clouds , rain , and even normal air , although the higher the altitude the more Ley there is. The 2nd form is in "Ley tunnels" small underground tunnels naturally made , there Ley travels in a liquid form , like water. Ley tunnel's capacity and quality increases when the Ley is in an area near quartz , obsidian or amethyst , as those are the best conductors for it. The 3rd and most pure form are "Ley Nexuses" , Large pockets of Ley surrounded by a material called "Ley matter" , which is harder than steel and spiky.
Gathering Ley is a whole another story. In short , humans produce bio-electric fields round them. When the person focuses very deeply , the field expands and begins to take in natural energy. When ley is around , it gets consumed by the field too. You know you've consumed ley if your aura is visible in a gold like accent.
Once you have consumed Ley , you need to refine it into "Pure mana". Refining it is simply imagining connecting the ley like a circle , that way it becomes Pure mana. Pure mana is unusable mana , and it only becomes usable after breaking through to the next Stage , hence the 4x mana increase.
"Wow... That was confusing... But i sort of understand it now , its almost as confusing as the AxA[1] anime i watched back on earth." Said Silas "Well , now that i know that , what's left is the history of this world. I need 2 more silver coins though... Ugh , what a pain"
And so , Silas , having no choice , headed back to the bulletin board for more tasks.
