Silas decided that , instead of working more , focusing on gathering Ley and refining it into mana would be much better , as he could guard himself and complete better paying jobs like herb gathering and such.
He walked around the city using his map and stumbled upon a guide office , a shop that gives information for free.
Silas , seeing an opportunity , walked inside the office. There stood a tall muscular man , at the reception.
"Howdy-ho there adventura'! Welcome to our tiny little guide office!"
"Woah... he sounds western..." Silas mumbled to himself , quietly enough for the receptionist not to hear "W-well , hello! Uh , i'd like to ask for some information about Ley deposits? Or places with good Ley amount for me to use?"
"Looking for Ley , are ya?" The receptionist chuckled and clapped his hands together with excitement "Let me tell you all about them!"
Silas , regretting his choices , mumbled "Oh dear..."
Half an hour of explanations and tips later
"Come again soon young fella!" Said the over-excited receptionist
"S-sure...." Silas sounded sleep deprived.
"Oh well" Silas said as he stretched , now outside the Guide office
"His excitement was a bit over the top but i wont lie , he did explain it pretty well... Also , this map is pretty convenient , the moment he mentioned the places with good amounts of Ley , they immediatly appeared on it... How convenient." Silas said as he held the map up
"Hm... he mentioned the "Wottman creak" being the best avaible free spot for Ley , but only before midnight... Its kinda late , but , there's never too little action in an isekai world! i should hurry though
After navigating the map , hefinally arrived at the creak. He walked up to the highest point , sat down and began meditating. he imagined expanding his Bio-electric field , or Aura for a few minutes.
A few minutes later , after focusing like he had never before , he felt a spike of energy and opened his eyes , seeing his golden aura. He instantly imagined connecting the Ley and after some trial and error , he finally got it.
"Woah... im finally a 1st stage mage... now , what did the proff said? Imagine a magic circle and your wanted chant?. Okay..."
Silas imagined a magic circle he had once seen in a manga and imagined the chant "Fire arrow"
He lifted his hand and imagine releasing the chant , and it worked.
A small yet powerful arrow made of fire fired out of his palm , flying into a distant tree and putting a small charred smoking crater into it.
"Woah... Thats so cool!!! I didnt expect chanting to be this much easier than gathering mana and such!"
Silas , having finally become a mage novice , decided to head back to the guild and pick up some combat quests to save up for history classes and the guild card
"Alright , its about time i could accept some combat quests" Silas said as he stretched , the scent of burnt wood still in the air "Man... i cant wait to see what actual combat will feel like... Time to find out i guess!"
And so , Silas began walking back to the Guild with more determination and excitement than ever.
