Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Game

Lia's eyes blazed with anger as she stared at Ama, her mom, who was sitting across from her, a calculating look in her eyes.

"You left us, Ama," Lia spat, her voice venomous. "You left me and Dad when I was just a kid. You abandoned us, and for what? So you could pursue your own ambitions? So you could chase after power and control?"

Ama's face remained calm, but Lia could see the faintest glink of unease in her eyes.

"Lia, I know I made mistakes," Ama said, her voice smooth. "But I'm back now, and I want to make it right. I want to be a part of your life again."

Lia laughed, a cold, hard sound. "A part of my life? You want to be a part of my life? You're not even sorry, Ama. You're just sorry you got caught. You're just sorry you got exposed."

Ama's eyes flashed with anger, but she quickly regained control. "Lia, that's not true. I love you, and I want what's best for you."

Lia's voice rose, her words dripping with venom. "What's best for me? You think coming back into my life and trying to manipulate me is what's best for me? You think erasing my memories of Dad and making me love you is what's best for me?"

Ama's face paled, and for a moment, Lia saw a glimpse of the woman she used to be, the woman who was her mom. But it was quickly replaced by the cold, calculating mask.

"Lia, I did what I had to do," Ama said, her voice firm. "I did it all for you, for your future."

Lia's anger boiled over, and she stood up, her fists clenched. "You did it for yourself, Ama. You did it because you're a selfish, power-hungry woman who only cares about one person: you."

Ama's face contorted in anger, and she stood up, her eyes blazing. "How dare you! You don't know what I've been through, what I've sacrificed for you."

Lia's voice dropped to a whisper, her eyes filled with tears. "I know what I've been through, Ama. I know what I lost. I lost my dad, and I lost you. And now, I don't know who you are anymore."

Ama's face softened, and she reached out to touch Lia's hand, but Lia pulled away, her eyes flashing with warning.

"Don't, Ama," Lia said, her voice cold. "Just leave. Leave and don't come back."

Ama's face hardened, and she turned to leave. "Fine, Lia. But this isn't over. I'll be back, and you'll listen to me."

Lia watched as Ama walked out of her apartment, a sense of unease settling in her stomach. She knew this wasn't the end, not by a long shot.

As the door closed behind Ama, Lia felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her. She was tired, tired of the games, tired of the lies.

But as she looked around her apartment, she saw the memories of her dad, the memories of the life she had built without Ama. And she knew she was strong, stronger than Ama could ever imagine.

Lia took a deep breath, a sense of determination filling her. She was ready to face whatever Ama threw her way, ready to fight for her life, for her freedom.

The war between Lia and Ama had just begun, and Lia was ready to take on her mom, ready to take back control of her life.

Ama sat in her luxurious living room, sipping a glass of wine as she dialed a number on her phone. The room was dimly lit, with only a few soft lights illuminating the opulent decor. She had a calculating look in her eyes, a look of determination and focus.

"Hello?" a voice answered on the other end.

"Ah, Rachel," Ama said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "I need you to arrange a meeting with the team. We have a situation that needs to be handled."

"Of course, ma'am," Rachel replied, her voice efficient and professional. "What seems to be the problem?"

"Lia is getting suspicious," Ama said, her eyes narrowing. "I need you to create a cover story, make it look like I'm doing everything for her own good."

"Understood," Rachel said. "I'll take care of it."

Ama hung up the phone and leaned back in her chair, a satisfied smile spreading across her face. She was a master manipulator, and she had Lia right where she wanted her.

Meanwhile, Lia was hiking through the woods, her backpack slugging with gear and supplies. She had been on the move for hours, ever since she received the mysterious message about Ama's plans. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the forest, and Lia knew she had to find shelter soon.

As she walked, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She had been tracking Ama's movements, and she knew her mom was up to something. Lia's instincts were on high alert, and she was ready to defend herself if necessary.

She finally reached a clearing and spotted a small cabin in the distance. She approached cautiously, her senses on high alert. The cabin was old and weathered, but it looked sturdy enough to provide shelter for the night.

Lia entered the cabin and quickly scanned the room, looking for any signs of danger. It was empty, but there was a note on the table.

"Welcome, Lia," the note read. "I've been expecting you. - A"

Lia's heart skipped a beat as she realized she had walked into a trap. But she was not one to back down from a challenge. She quickly assessed the situation and came up with a plan.

She would play along, pretend to be the obedient daughter Ama wanted her to be. But in reality, she would be gathering information, learning more about Ama's plans and preparing her next move.

Lia smiled to herself as she settled in for the night, her mind racing with strategies and possibilities. She was ready for Ama, ready to take her down and reclaim her life.

As the night wore on, Lia's phone buzzed with a message. It was from an unknown number.

"Meet me at the old warehouse at midnight. Come alone."

Lia's eyes narrowed as she read the message. This was it, the moment she had been waiting for. She was ready to take on Ama and her team, ready to uncover the truth and bring them down.

She typed out a quick response, her heart racing with anticipation.

"I'm coming."

The game was on, and Lia was ready to play.
