"Love is blind and deaf! "

↷✦; welcome ❞

The room was dominated by black and white, creating a cold yet firm impression. On one wall, a row of medals hung neatly, reflecting the lamplight as if bearing silent witness to all their owner's achievements.

The wooden shelves in the corner of the room were crowded with thick books on business strategy and management. However, beside this serious impression, there was a more relaxed side: a large desk housing the latest technology, complete with a high-spec computer and a neatly arranged collection of game DVDs.

On the bed, the woman sat silently on the edge of the mattress. Her slender fingers moved slowly, tracing the edge of the photo frame in her grasp. She stared intently at the image behind the glass for a moment, before finally placing it on her lap with a heavy, sad sigh.

"Damn," she muttered softly.

Her face was impassive, but the look in her eyes couldn't hide the storm raging within.

Knock.. Knock.. Knock

A steady knock on the door suddenly distracted Vanya from her reverie.

"Miss Vanya, it's time for breakfast, Miss," Aunt Ani's soft voice rang from behind the door.

Aunt Ani is a middle-aged woman who has served Vanya's family for decades. To Vanya, she's not just a housekeeper, but a member of the family who's always there for her.

"Okay, Aunt. Vanya will be right there," she replied, her voice slightly raised so she could be heard outside the room.

Vanya rose from her seat. Before leaving, she returned the photo frame to the nightstand beside her bed. Her eyes once again fell on the picture within—a long, meaningful final glance.

"Geo, I miss you. Why did you leave me?" Vanya whispered softly, as if the inanimate object before her could provide an answer.

Tears began to well up in the corners of her eyes as she muttered again, "If only you hadn't left me, Geo. If only you hadn't gone. But now... all that's left is the if."

She repeated the sentence over and over again, like a mantra of pain that never ended.

In an instant, the walls of the room seemed to fade, replaced by the echo of a childhood voice still vividly etched in her memory. A cheerful voice always calling her name.

"Anya, let's play with Geo!"

"Anya, shall we go there later?"

"Anya, Geo has a new toy!"

Vanya closed her eyes, but the voice seemed even more real, calling her name over and over until her chest felt tight. Then, the tone of the voice changed, becoming heavier, more distant, as if saying goodbye.

"Anya... Geo, go now, okay? Geo will definitely come back. Geo will definitely come back and see Anya again. Geo promises."

That promise. A promise that, to this day, remains a thorn in her life.

"You're lying, Geo! YOU'RE LIING!" Vanya shouted, her voice cracking with the tears she shed.

She gripped the edge of the mattress until her knuckles turned white. The anger she'd been suppressing for years now burst forth in the silence of the room.

"You've been gone for so long, and now you're back... but why?" Vanya sobbed, her chest tightening as if the room had run out of oxygen. "Why didn't you come to me? Why didn't you come to Anya?"

Vanya took a firm step toward her computer desk. Her slender fingers moved at an astonishing speed across the keyboard, typing line after line of code without pause. Before long, the monitor screen was filled with rows of numbers and complex algorithms, creating a dazzling glow in the dim room.

With a single press of the Enter key, a new window appeared. The screen now displayed a hidden video recording: a couple sitting intimately on the sofa, lost in a passionate kiss, captured in crystal clear detail.

Vanya's jaw clenched as she watched every second of the footage on the screen. Her gaze sharpened, as if her gaze could penetrate the monitor and shatter everything inside.

"You guys are having fun over there," Vanya hissed in a low, hateful tone. "Meanwhile, here, I have to endure this jealousy all alone. Isn't that so unfair?"

A sardonic, crooked smile tugged at her lips, as her fingers gripped the edge of the table until they turned white.

Then Vanya went back to fiddling with his computer and a different screen appeared again, where inside the computer a room was visible, then Vanya went back to messing up his computer and a different screen appeared again.

Vanya resumed moving her fingers across the keyboard. The monitor screen flickered rapidly, switching from a romantic video recording to a display of rows of CCTV cameras monitoring a large room—Matthew's office. Not satisfied with that, she continued dancing on the computer keys, splitting the screen into several windows that displayed various secret corners of PT. William's International.

"No way, Geo. You can't have fun alone," she muttered with a thin smile that looked cold under the glow of the monitor.

Vanya leaned back, her eyes gleaming with a plan. "We'll see, Geo. Your time with that woman is about to run out, and now... it's time for me to take over."

"Silence won't do any good!" she exclaimed suddenly, this time with a wide, strange and terrifying smile on her beautiful face.

Vanya pulled up a chair and sat quietly in front of the row of monitors that were still on. Her eyes never left the screen, as if worshipping the figure there.

"Geo... Geo... Geo..." she hissed rhythmically, as if the name were the most beautiful and deadly melody she had ever uttered.

Tring... Tring...

The loud ringing of the telephone suddenly broke the intimacy between the two lovers. Mathius snorted, forced to release his grip on Amora, who complained spoiledly that their intimacy had been interrupted. Still breathing heavily, he snatched his phone from the table.

"Hello?" she answered sharply.

"Mathius! Where are you? Hurry up and get to Papa's office now!" the voice on the other end sounded panicked, leaving no room for argument.

"Papa? "Papa, what's going on?" Mathius asked, his brow furrowed. Confusion gripped him, and his heart began to beat faster.

"There's an emergency at Papa's office, Mathius! But Papa's busy treating patients at the hospital right now, so I'm entrusting everything to you, okay?" Yohan's voice on the other end of the line sounded very hurried, accompanied by the typical background noise of a hospital.

"But—" Mathius tried to interrupt, but the line suddenly cut off before he could finish.

After receiving his Papa's instructions, Mathius quickly got ready. His messy shirt was now tidied up.

"Honey, I have to go now," Mathius said, kissing Amora's forehead quickly. "There's an emergency at Papa's office."

"Why so sudden?" Amora asked with a pout, her expression cute but feeling out of place amidst Mathius' panic.

"Yeah, sorry," she said sincerely. "We'll talk later on the phone. I'll be going, bye, honey." If you want to go, let me know, okay?"

Without waiting for a response, Mathius immediately grabbed his car keys and disappeared behind the door, leaving Amora still sulking on the sofa.

As he drove through the West Jakarta traffic, Mathius called his father's assistant with a stern expression.

"Davin, I'll be there soon. Prepare a plausible excuse and explain why this happened!" Mathius ordered in a cold, unyielding tone.

Without waiting for a response from the other end, he immediately hung up and tossed his phone into the passenger seat. His focus was now completely on the road ahead, as his heart pounded.
