Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Building the Left-Back

The periods when teams recruit players differ from one another. I visited each team—starting with the 4th Division club Bravion Thunder—to learn their trial dates. Bravion Thunder's trials will be held next Sunday. This week, however, I found out that two amateur clubs are holding their trials, both starting tomorrow at 11 AM. I applied to Raventon, which I believed was the better option, paying the 2000-credit application fee.

After completing the application, I went to a store to buy a pair of boots. With the budget I had left, I bought a good pair for 1500 credits. I also purchased a few tops to wear at the trials, spending another 1000 credits and finishing my shopping.

Once I wrapped up today's plans, I headed to my part-time job. After work, I went home and got a good night's sleep. The next morning, as I did every Sunday, I ate the breakfast Clara had carefully prepared, then set out for the trials.

When I arrived, the crowd was what I expected, but seeing the players' stats still surprised me. Every single one of them had levels close to Evan and Caleb. With competitors like these, my chances of being selected were quite low—but thanks to the newly unlocked Footballer Profession, I still had a shot.

Although I plan to choose an offensive role in the future, for now, I applied for fullback or defensive positions to increase my chances of joining a club. Since I'm right-footed, I marked the Left-Back and Left Center-Back options.

Waiting a few more weeks before applying would have made much more sense, but I believed the new attributes for the fullback role would give me an advantage, so I didn't hesitate to sign up for the trials.

To continue with my plan, I opened the Football tab in the system.

• Select a position.

More than twenty options appeared. Normally, there are four main positions—goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward—but the system had created detailed sub-roles for each one. People around the world who chose the Footballer Profession could only pick one of the four main roles and increase a few general stats. Meanwhile, my system offered far more detailed development options.

I selected Left-Back, and a detailed attribute screen appeared:

---

Left-Back Position(Level 1)

• Acceleration (Level 1)

• Dribbling (Level 1)

• Passing (Level 1)

• Vision (Level 1)

• Composure (Level 1)

• Decision Making (Level 1)

• Positioning (Level 1)

• Tackling (Level 1)

• Anticipation (Level 1)

• Marking (Level 1)

• Interception (Level 1)

• Ball Control (Level 1)

---

When I unlocked the fullback role, all these attributes became available. When I first unlocked the Footballer Profession, the system only provided basic attributes such as passing, shooting, and tackling, but now everything was far more detailed, which meant I could present myself much more accurately to the trial judges.

I needed to choose the most important attributes in the fullback role and level them up. I clicked Acceleration first — the system required 2 points to raise it from Level 1 to Level 2, so I spent the points.

Acceleration: 1 → 2 (Points Spent: 2)
