Lara's POV
Monday evening finds Austin and me in my dorm room once again. I had been playfully dodging his advances across the small space when he finally caught me, tackling me onto the narrow bed with a low growl that vibrated against my throat and made me gasp with laughter.
His skilled fingers work at the buttons of my shirt when my cell phone suddenly pierces the intimate atmosphere. Without thinking, I reach for it and answer, my attention still captured by the way Austin's lips trail fire down my collarbone.
"Hello."
"Lara, have you been deliberately avoiding my calls?" The familiar voice cuts through my haze like ice water. Gerry.
I immediately push Austin away and bolt upright, my heart hammering against my ribs.
"Gerry, how are you doing?" I manage to ask, sidestepping his accusation entirely.
Of course I had been avoiding his calls. The entire weekend had been consumed by Austin, and Gerry had barely crossed my mind.
