Joseph's POV
Joseph wasn't surprised when several warriors submitted requests to challenge Lincoln for his position. He would have been more concerned if they hadn't stepped forward. The pack hierarchy demanded proof of strength alongside leadership ability.
Lincoln had demonstrated his capacity to lead and his willingness to learn, but now he needed to prove his physical dominance. Joseph felt no concern about the outcome. If he doubted Lincoln could defeat the other warriors, he never would have selected him as Gamma, and neither would Karl.
After waking with Dorothy draped across his chest and ensuring she received his full attention that morning, Joseph headed downstairs to contact Damon.
"Good morning, Alpha Joseph," Damon answered on the first ring.
"It certainly is a good morning, Alpha Damon."
"You sound particularly pleased. What's brought about this mood?"
