Henderson's POV
"How long has it been since anyone ordered medical supplies?" I asked Lopez, surveying the outdated equipment surrounding us. The hospital felt frozen in time, with machinery that looked older than me. I wasn't even confident I could operate the ancient x-ray machine gathering dust in the corner.
"We order basic necessities for the pups - bandages, antiseptic, some sutures when needed. That's about all we manage," Lopez explained with a casual shrug.
My stomach tightened with concern. "What about pregnancies and deliveries? Ultrasound equipment, fetal monitors, proper birthing supplies?"
"Like I mentioned before, we make do with what we have. When our women go into labor, they deliver naturally."
The casual acceptance in her voice made my blood run cold. "Has anyone ever developed complications? Lost a child during a difficult birth?"
