Percy's POV
The instant Usher pinned Kain and claimed her, I realized we had crossed a dangerous line. That familiar surge of light flooded through us, the same intoxicating warmth and explosive ecstasy that had consumed our body when I first took Henderson as mine.
Once that connection ignited, Usher became completely unhinged. Every thread of self-control snapped as he surrendered to the primal thrill of the chase and the overwhelming bliss of their union. Kain finally gave out near the rocky ledge before I managed to wrestle Usher back under my command.
'Damn you, Usher.'
'Percy... I didn't mean...'
Neither of us intended to lose ourselves so completely, yet when faced with the pure euphoria of being buried deep inside our mate, restraint becomes impossible.
Kain's form shimmers as she returns to human shape. I force Usher's wolf body forward, lowering my head to examine her. The metallic scent of blood makes me snarl with frustration.
