Lara's POV
The reality of what Austin just did hits me like a freight train. He actually killed that student. Under normal circumstances, this would terrify me, but the excruciating pain radiating from my knee makes it impossible to focus on anything else. Every step Austin takes as he carries me sends lightning bolts of agony through my entire leg.
"Emergency coming through!" Austin's voice booms as he kicks open the infirmary doors.
A woman in scrubs appears instantly, her eyes immediately assessing my twisted knee. Without hesitation, she gestures for Austin to follow her down a sterile hallway. The fluorescent lights blur above me as we move quickly toward what I assume is an examination room.
"Place her here, gently," the doctor instructs, indicating a metal table.
Austin lowers me with the care of someone handling precious china. Despite his gentleness, I bite back a scream as my knee shifts.
"I need you to exit while I examine her," the doctor states firmly.
