Austin's POV
Buck made damn sure everyone at this Academy knows exactly who Lara belongs to. His scent clings to her skin like a brand, marking her as ours for every wolf nose within a mile radius to detect.
Walking toward the sparring field, I catch sight of Glenda approaching us. That calculating look in her eyes spells trouble, and I brace myself for whatever poison she's about to spill.
"Well hello there, Austin," she starts, then stops dead when her gaze lands on Lara. Her nose wrinkles in theatrical disgust. "Sweet goddess, what is that smell?"
Lara's spine straightens, and I feel the fire building in her before she even speaks. "If you're referring to the fact that I smell like my man, the same man you keep throwing yourself at, then yes, I'm perfectly fine with that."
"Maybe consider a shower sometime," Glenda snaps, spinning on her heel to leave.
