Austin's POV
"Rose, hold up," Bill's voice calls out behind me. I pause and watch him jog to catch up. "How did everything go in there?"
He passes me a sandwich, and I'm grateful since I completely skipped lunch and my stomach is practically eating itself. "Could have gone better. They were ready to throw me out until I dropped the bomb that Lara is my fated mate."
"Think she'll be okay with them knowing?" he questions.
"No clue. But I didn't have a choice. Buck wouldn't have torn that pathetic excuse for a warrior apart if she wasn't mine. And like I made clear to Alpha Mason, if they were actually doing their jobs properly, our training group wouldn't have been under attack twice in two days right under their noses."
"I'm betting he didn't appreciate that observation," he remarks.
