Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

Hehe, You Lost!

Inside the Sarutobi Mansion, Hiruzen Sarutobi had a pipe dangling from his lips, his expression grim.

"That idiot Mizuki… he dares to sow discord between Naruto and me!"

"I originally planned to kill him and be done with it, hoping he could last a while longer in Ibixi's hands."

To be honest, Hiruzen now regretted letting Mizuki test Naruto. He should have sent a secret service agent disguised as an enemy. But regretting it now was useless; he could only try to repair the situation later.

Fortunately, through his machinations, Naruto had become a child hated by everyone. As the boy's only 'light,' he should be fine if he was only slightly deceived.

"Now it depends on whether Naruto will lose control… and if he does, whether he can manage that power."

"Don't let me down, Naruto…"

---

On the other side, Naruto—or rather, Feng Xu—glared with a chilling, murderous intent that sent shivers down the spine.

The surrounding temperature seemed to drop to zero.

What Mizuki said had not only affected Naruto—it had shaken Feng Xu as well.

The collapse, fear, anxiety, confusion, and self-blame all surged through Feng Xu's mind, along with the dark and painful memories of the past. No wonder the corruption value had increased by over 3,200 in just a few minutes.

"I didn't expect you to have the strength to fight back. Impressive," Feng Xu muttered.

Though Mizuki's right hand gripped Naruto tightly, he couldn't bring him down. There was no panic in his eyes. He was just a kid nearing Genin level. This was likely a final burst of energy before death; it wouldn't last long.

As for breaking the seal and becoming a fox demon… ridiculous. If the seal could be broken from the inside, it would have happened long ago.

He needed the container outside to be broken before the fox demon could emerge. Once that happened, no one would care if he ran wild.

---

"Inhale—is this the breath of the real world? I really miss those days."

Feng Xu took a deep breath of oxygen scented with trees, then fixed his gaze on Mizuki. His eyes gleamed with brutal killing intent.

His grip on Mizuki's arm tightened.

"You were laughing quite happily just now."

As he spoke, a system message appeared:

[Exchange for Chunin Taijutsu (Iruka) – 50]

[Exchange for Chunin Taijutsu (Mizuki) – 60]

[Exchange for Elite Jonin Taijutsu (Hiruzen Sarutobi) – 800]

[Current corruption level: 3010]

Feng Xu had originally planned to exchange for the One-Tailed Chakra Mode, but now he held back. He had no desire to confront the Akatsuki or the covetousness of other villages. Instead, he would remain patient and follow the original timeline, redeeming the all-purpose physical skills first.

---

"How could this be!?"

Feeling immense force and pain in his arm, Mizuki's composure finally shattered.

He stared at Naruto—now completely transformed—his expression twisted.

"Could you be… a demon?"

Before he could finish the word "fox," there was a snap!

"Ah—!!!"

Screams of pain echoed through the night. Mizuki's arm was snapped off by Feng Xu after the body exchange procedure, bending downward at a grotesque ninety-degree angle.

Realizing what had happened, Mizuki tried to retaliate with his other hand, gripping Feng Xu's neck.

"Disgusting fox demon… die!"

Click! Another bone-cracking sound. The hand gripping Feng Xu's neck flew into the air.

Feng Xu landed with a bloodthirsty smile, holding a kunai still dripping with blood.

[Darkness Value +2]

[Darkness Value +3…]

This was pure, vengeful satisfaction. Feng Xu advanced toward Mizuki with a bright, innocent smile.

"Mr. Mizuki, you're so weak. It's not interesting at all."

Elite Jonin-level taijutsu versus a Chunin specialized in teaching—an overwhelming victory.

Mizuki, having fallen backward, sensed not just the change in strength but also the transformation in the person before him.

Earlier, Naruto had been despicable but still retained a childlike innocence. Now, Feng Xu radiated pure killing intent and resentment—a demon from hell.

Shuimu's eyes filled with fear, despair, and regret.

"You're not Naruto… you're a fox demon! You've broken the seal!"

"Hahaha… a fox demon?" Feng Xu laughed, mockery dripping from his words.

"A fox spirit wouldn't bother to talk so much, nor play games with you."

"Playing games?!"

Hope flickered in Mizuki's dim eyes. It wasn't a fox spirit—it was just a child lacking love.

"I can play with you! You can play however you want! Just let me go!"

Feng Xu didn't answer. Instead, he tapped a tree trunk with his kunai, a childlike, cheerful smile appearing on his face.

"Let's play a ghost-catching game. If I count to 100 and I still can't catch you, you win. The stakes… are your life!"

Sweet, innocent words dripped with malice.

Mizuki barely had time to react. Fueled by his will to live, he ignored the pain from his severed hand and ran.

"100, 99, 98…"

The wind carried the sound of Mizuki's footsteps, but a gust blew behind him.

Slide! The kunai ripped through the skin on his back.

"Ah!"

"75, 74, 73…"

He tried to run, gritting his teeth, but another gust of wind sliced through him.

"Ah!!"

Mizuki's right leg was severed at the root. He collapsed, screaming.

"40, 39, 38…"

The tolling of the Grim Reaper's bell echoed. Mizuki crawled with his left leg.

Slide! His only remaining leg was severed at the root.

"20, 19, 18…"

Trembling, he dragged himself along the ground, desperate to survive.

"3, 2…"

Mizuki smiled faintly, thinking he had a chance. He could escape.

But the final "1" never came. A kunai pierced his chest from behind.

"Hehe… Ms. Mizuki, you lost!"
