The Exam, Shocked Everyone
The next morning.
In a classroom at the ninja academy, Naruto lay slouched over his desk, dark circles under his eyes.
He had stayed up all night, tossing and turning, utterly absorbed in the story of young A-Ming. His mind had replayed every scene, imagining himself as the protagonist.
And… he had even inserted the gentle cousin character into Sakura!
Thinking of this, Naruto's cheeks flushed red, and a mischievous, perverted smile appeared on his face.
As sunlight filtered through the classroom windows, more students began filing in. Among them was Sasuke, who walked past Naruto and caught a glimpse of his silly expression.
He curled his lip, scoffing dismissively. "Idiot."
As fellow orphans of Konoha, Naruto, the class's worst student, was a source of shame for all orphans!
Naruto turned, scowling, and immediately spotted Sasuke's cold, arrogant face. He recalled a scene from "Young A-Ming" in his mind, and, without hesitation, asked,
"Who are you calling an idiot?"
Sasuke, clearly amused that Naruto had misunderstood him, sneered. "That idiot is calling you a loser."
Naruto nodded solemnly. "Yes… an idiot is insulting me."
Sasuke's expression darkened instantly. When had Naruto, always a bumbling loser, suddenly become sharp-tongued?
"A loser who only talks big!" Sasuke barked, "An idiot who can't even speak properly!"
Crack! Lightning seemed to flash between their eyes, fire and tension filling the air.
Choji, seated nearby and munching on potato chips, grinned ear to ear. "Hahaha! Shikamaru, look at Naruto today! He's hilarious!"
Such verbal battles between top students and the lowest-ranked ones were not unusual—but today was different. Today, Naruto, the bottom-ranked student, had actually left Sasuke, the top student, speechless!
Shikamaru leaned back, sighing, rubbing his temple. "Here we go again… is Sakura Haruno really that pretty?" He shook his head, glancing at Naruto. "Besides… it's not even clear who the top students are right now."
He had heard from his father about the events of the previous night. Naruto wasn't as weak as he seemed; he had taken down a traitorous Chunin.
Just as the tension between Naruto and Sasuke reached its peak, Sakura and Ino burst into the classroom, arguing loudly over who had arrived first.
Behind them, timid Hinata hesitated, unsure whether to intervene. But when she saw Naruto and Sasuke facing off, her face turned bright red. Naruto hadn't even noticed her presence—he was too busy glaring at Sasuke.
The two girls eventually stopped their squabble, both of them now captivated by the unfolding duel. Sakura scolded Naruto while praising Sasuke, which only fueled Naruto's anger—and Sasuke's fury in turn.
The commotion turned the classroom into chaos—an uproar akin to a marketplace.
But the noise was abruptly silenced when Iruka entered, flanked by two Chunin teachers unknown to the students.
"Alright, everyone, return to your seats. We're about to begin this year's Genin graduation exams."
Iruka's gaze lingered on Naruto, complex and unreadable, but he said nothing.
Naruto's eyes gleamed. Finally, a chance to shine! Especially after mastering an A-rank ninjutsu that even Chunin instructors struggled with.
"Sasuke, today I'll get a better score than you for sure!" Naruto called, spinning around.
Sasuke barely glanced at him. "Stop daydreaming, you idiot."
But before Sasuke could finish, Iruka's announcement shook the classroom to its core.
"The first to graduate is Naruto. He doesn't need to take the exam—he passed automatically after defeating a Chunin."
Chaos erupted instantly.
"The worst student… defeated a Chunin?!"
"Pinch me! I must be dreaming!"
"Impossible! This has to be fake!"
"Naruto must have bribed the teacher!"
Even Sasuke's face paled, disbelief written across his features.
Naruto, frustrated by their doubt, leapt onto the desk, shouting explanations. Feng Xu, witnessing the scene from inside Naruto's consciousness, paled.
"Idiot! Explanations are useless! Just form hand seals and show them the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Naruto's eyes widened. "Oh! That's right!" He quickly formed the necessary hand seals.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Bang!
In an instant, countless Narutos filled the classroom, overwhelming Iruka and the Chunin teachers. Students were swept aside, sensing the aura radiating from the clones.
"Naruto! You idiot!" Iruka's veins bulged in anger. "Dispel the clones! There are too many!"
Naruto quickly dispelled the clones, still wearing a smug grin.
"Haha! This is an A-rank ninjutsu, the Shadow Clone Technique. None of you know it yet, right? But now, you will! Hahaha!"
The students' astonishment muted their complaints. Based on that single display, even if they all combined forces, they would have been no match for Naruto.
Feng Xu, from the consciousness space, gained "darkening points" for the spectacle.

After collecting his headband, Naruto returned to his seat.
The graduation exams resumed, and the classroom's focus shifted to the test—except for Sasuke, who sat grimly, clenching his fists under the table.
"A-rank ninjutsu… Multiple Shadow Clone Technique… defeated a Chunin…"
Every thought pierced Sasuke's heart like a sharp blade. Naruto occasionally turned to wink at him, making his rage even worse. His grip under the table tightened until his nails dug into his flesh, and his expression darkened further.
Even when it was his turn for the exam, Sasuke faltered repeatedly. If Iruka hadn't intervened, Sasuke might have had to wait another year to graduate.
