That night I stayed up later than I had planned to. Thinking about my estimated time line of progression.
I estimate that the average time to get to tier 3 upgrade is 9.2 days or rather 10 days for rounding up.
Today just so happens to be the 5th day that I have had my ability. I also started my experience grinding for upgrades on the same day, but because the experience doesn't carry over from the previous upgrade. I am essentially 1 day down in the counter.
What I am trying to say is that I will see my next upgrades happen in around 6 days.
…
6 days later.
Today is the day.
Waking up far earlier than I had intended at 3 O'clock in the morning.
I was jittery with excitement, the absence of something really does make you crave what you long for.
I long for the blinding blue light that brings the euphoric feeling of the bright future.
However, 3 hours of sleep is never going to work out well. I really need to get my head down for a few more hours. Just to be more healthy.
…
7 hours later.
I struggle to open my eyes.
My head is heavy and flopping from one side to the other.
The tinnitus ringing in my ears is the least of my worries as the world spins in my view.
I sluggishly pick up my hand and slap my own face, letting it stick momentarily before slowly sliding off my cheek.
I feel like someone hit me in the head with a brick.
Ye Xiu? Has that scoundrel been wandering around here?
Haha.
Ugh, my pounding head.
What time is it?
Fumbling for my phone.
I glare though the glare.
5 after 10 in the morning.
I can only take in a sharp breath of air and force myself out of bed. I need to jump into the shower to try and shake off the drowsiness.
Even after a shower I just can't seem to shake the sleep from my eyes, or the weight from my mind.
I have wasted over 4 hours on some worthless sleep. I can sleep plenty when I'm dead. Today's an important day, not someday to be flittered away in dreamland.
It seems like I'm going to have to rely on the forbidden fruit.
I make my way upstairs to the laundry room. Where the second refrigerator is hidden away, right next to the side door that leads to the driveway.
This refrigerator usually holds things like alcohol, overflow food, and most currently important soda.
I for one really dislike alcohol and soda alike. I usually only drink water with the occasional fruit juice, or on special occasion soda; like Cherrywine, or cherry vanilla Pop.
My mom however likes the nastiest, most vile of all soda, ValleyDew.
Yuck! I hate it! But right now, it might be the dark hero I really need.
I might hate it but I really need to stay awake today. So, I can only grit my teeth and force myself to swallow the fizzy, foamy, disgusting, ValleyDew.
I really loath myself.
Plodding back down stairs fueled by soda and rage. I continue the day in a haze, but awake.
…
The end of the day.
Finally, I made it.
Time to tally up all of the upgrades.
Starting with the most unimpressive.
The extension cord and the charging cable. Both got an upgrade. More efficient and the charger charges faster.
Not really too exciting.
Now for the good stuff.
The monitor, the refresh rate got another boost, you really can't tell a difference. It is just about as smooth as you can get. I think, I'm not an expert at this. It also has better graphics, I can't even see the pixels any more. It's so sharp I thought I cut my eyes just looking at it. Finally it got an interesting upgrade that I wasn't expecting. The screen now has a natural field of depth to it.
I mean it feels like the screen has depth, when loading a 3D game it feels like it has depth. And that is with a game that has not even coded that into the game. Just a natural function of the monitor. It is pretty cool.
The phone has become a product of the future. The reception is incredible, It can get a signal from just about anywhere on earth. It has processing speeds that leave modern commercial computers in the dust. The screen similar to the monitor gained a weird field of depth that feels like my finger is going through the screen to touch the app bubble itself. Not that it will, it just feels that way.
Finally, what I'm most excited about is the computer.
The computer has finally entered the super computing realm. The edge of it but super computing nonetheless. I did a quick Foolgle search for it. And boy oh boy, can we finally get down to work.
The computer is still in the early stages of super computing but it is still a significant jump forward. The rest of the computer also got upgraded, the graphics card, ram, everything. But I think the most important after the processing power is the energy efficiency and cooling ability that the computer gained.
Imagine a super computer that only uses the same amount of electricity of a high end consumer grade computer and doesn't generate as much heat. People around the world would go crazy, trying to get their hands on it.
Yet, they have no idea that it exists, or that it is in my unassuming hands. Though why would they? I haven't even done anything yet. Yet that is.
Now that I have this computer I can finally start some more complex maneuvering. My genius will finally be unleashed upon the world.
Though that will have to come tomorrow.
I am way too tired to start any of my plans today.
Usually I would just power through but I need my mind to be clear to pull off some of the precision necessary for my plans.
Time for bed.
