Eliana's Pov
I smiled brightly as l took orders completely oblivious to the horror unfolding outside. The air conditioner hummed and the scent of fries filled the air. Beyond the glass walls, the city's Street twisted, a grey fog creeping in. Suddenly, screams echoed outside, my co-worker Lily stumbled infront of me with eyes milking white and skin turning grey. My heart skipped a beat, what is happening? I was terrified as all of the grey skinned humans shuffled towards me moaning. Some customers were convulsing, twisting their bodies in weird angles whilst growling. I crawled under one of the tables, my hands gripping one of the kitchen knifes l had grapped at the counter. They were closing in, l was scared as hell....Maybe this is it. Is this how l die? l had already come to terms with my cruel fate. I shut my eyes tightly, gripping the knife close to my chest.
My eyes snapped open to a surreal sight: three impossibly tall, heart-stoppingly handsome figures, their eyes burning with an otherworldly intensity – violet, green, and red. They moved with eerie precision, guns drawn, as they mowed down the stumbling zombies surrounding her.
For a heartbeat, l stared, frozen in shock. Then, a deep, velvet voice rumbled, We're here for you, Eliana. Let's move. I had no time to even think how the hell he knew my name.
The violet-eyed leader offered a hand, his face chiseled to perfection, devoid of any warmth or malice. My instincts screamed at me to trust them or l might truly die.
I took a deep breath, griping his hand tightly. One of the men, nodded at me. He kicked open the door, and we rushed out, zombies coming towards us. The others formed a circle around me, fighting them off
We moved fast, dodging and fighting our way through the horde. I could hear more zombies coming from all sides.
Suddenly, a zombie grabbed my arm. I yelled, but the leader was there, knocking it off.
We need to get to the spaceship!, one of them l earlier heard being called Xeler roared. The spaceship was a few blocks away, l could see it from here looking sophisticated amidst the demolished buildings. I knew the zombies will attack us on the way.The spaceship was getting closer. We are almost there,Eliana! he shouted.
We burst through the spaceship opened door. We slammed it shut behind us. I leaned against it breathing hard, listening to the zombies pounding on the metal.
