Chapter 38 - Chapter The Dark Elves.

The trouble started only a few days after we secured the Reality Stone.

At first, everything seemed stable. The containment protocols were active, the Vibranium casing was sealed, and the Foundation had finally taken its first real step into the world of cosmic artifacts. But then the scans started going haywire. Spatial distortions. Gravitational turbulence. Residual cosmic energy.

At first, we thought it came from the Stone. But no… the cause was far worse.

By retrieving the Reality Stone early—centuries before the Dark Elves ever expected it—we had unintentionally awakened the surviving battalions of Malekith's forces. Just like in Thor: The Dark World, except this time there was no Thor, no Asgardian army, no Odin.

There was only us.

The Dark Elves came out of stasis enraged, confused, and immediately hostile. Their ships decloaked around the hidden site Julius, Darius, and I had set up near the Convergence point. They descended upon us with black hole grenades, plasma blades, cursed weapons, and ancient technology we weren't prepared to face.

It became one of the bloodiest battles in the Foundation's ancient history.

Our fortified position barely held. Several of our new anomalous weapons failed to pierce Dark Elf armor. Their soldiers moved like shadows, tearing through squads with surgical efficiency. Even with Julius and Sun Tzu directing combat operations, we lost dozens of personnel in the opening hours alone.

But we adapted.We always adapt.

The tide turned only because of Jack Bright's project—our first generation of anomalous laser rifles. Those enhanced weapons, refined on SCP-914's Very Fine setting, cut through Dark Elf armor like molten light. Combined with our containment teams using improvised defensive barriers and fūinjutsu seals I prepared in advance, we eventually gained the upper hand.

Hours later, the last Dark Elf finally fell.

We had won.Barely.

The cost was high, but the victory was priceless. Not only did we neutralize a hostile cosmic faction—we also obtained their entire surviving fleet.

Dark Elf starships.Stealth drives.Black hole singularity grenades.Gravitational distortion engines.Dimensional phase cloaking systems.

Technology so advanced it made even Rick Prime's intelligence pause in fascination.

We transported everything to Foundation storage and secured it across multiple reinforced sites. But a new problem immediately arose.

Jack Bright was already leading the SCP-914 project. We couldn't drown him with more responsibilities.

We needed another high-tier scientist. Someone whose entire existence revolved around research, logic, and results.

So I turned to the system.

The battle and recovered technology had earned me a respectable amount of system points—not an overwhelming amount, but enough. Enough for something important.

Enough to buy a talent powerful enough to change everything.

I scrolled until I found the option.

Doctor Gears.

Emotionless.Relentless.Efficient.A man who would continue working while bleeding out, simply because he hadn't finished the task.No humor, no warmth, no hesitation.Only pure analytical brilliance.

Exactly what we needed.

I purchased him.

A moment later, reality shimmered, and he appeared—cold-eyed, calm, and already observing his surroundings with clinical precision. Without a word wasted, he approached me for assignment.

I gave him full authority over the newly acquired Dark Elf technology project.

His expression didn't change. He simply nodded once—silent acknowledgment—and walked away to begin his work.

And with that, the Foundation's technological evolution began its next phase.
