Veronica's POV
I didn't notice Leonardo creeping up behind me until his voice cut through the air. "What were you two discussing?"
"Nothing important," I answered curtly.
His frown deepened, that familiar intensity creeping into his expression. "You're telling me you're not even curious about those six-pointed star cufflinks? No questions at all?"
I kept walking, not bothering to slow my pace. "If you actually wanted to help, you would've just told me instead of playing these attention-seeking games. You're acting like a child."
Leonardo's mouth opened, then closed. For once, he seemed at a loss for words.
I was deliberately pushing his buttons, and we both knew it.
How could he expect a civil conversation after pulling stunts like this?
