Veronica's POV
Lachlan's eyes lit up like he'd struck gold. "Really? You actually worked with them? When was this?"
"It wasn't anything official. I just picked up some basics," I said, keeping it vague.
"No way, Veronica, you're selling yourself short! Hold on—I'm setting this up right now!"
Lachlan practically bounced out of the room while Leonardo's gaze burned into me, that familiar intensity making my skin prickle.
"So you're not just Tasha, but Natalia too? Damn impressive. What other secrets are you hiding from me?"
"Ever hear the saying about curiosity and cats?" I shot him a pointed look, my eyes narrowing. His hunger for answers was getting a little too obvious.
Lachlan had the interrogation room ready and waved me over through the glass. I brushed past Leonardo, close enough to catch his cologne, and headed inside.
Behind me, I felt his eyes tracking my every move, that self-satisfied smile practically radiating off him.
This was becoming his new obsession.
