Chapter 13 - Aura

...

Aura, is the power humanity possesses and the main reason it has survived for years. (Aura), also known as soul power, means exactly that.

"Aura is basically divided into two parts. The first part is Aura quantity, which shows how much spiritual energy you have.

Spiritual energy is stored in the core.

The second is Aura quality. Aura quality increases with a person's confidence in themselves and the confidence others have in them.

"Ah fuck, I'm really tired."

Yhazem was about to faint from exhaustion — but why? Because after learning Aura, that bastard Maver's training session had started again...

Maver, with a bastard-like grin on his face, reached out his hand to the Yhazem lying on the ground.

—Hey brat, how long are you going to lie there? It's time to get a skill.

"That damn bastard," he muttered, grabbed his hand, and stood up.

...We had finally arrived in the room.

—Hey brat, you have two options. First, attack skills: Fire Fist, Ominous Night, Silent Steps; and for defense skills: Kronos's Ancient Third Eye and Ominous Intuition.

—Alright, what's your choice?

...I put my hands on my chin and fell into thought. "Honestly, I had two skill slots, one defense and one attack. Hmmmm, alright."

—Mr. Maver, can I learn exactly what the skills do?

—Ah yes, sure. Briefly, the skills are:

Fire Fist = You can turn your arm into fire. Simple but effective skill.

Ominous Night = You can disrupt your opponent's senses.

Silent Steps = Classic, just like the name.

Defense skills are:

Kronos's Ancient Third Eye = Helps you calculate the battlefield better, analyze, think.

Ominous Intuition = Allows you to sense when something bad is about to happen.

"Hmmm to be honest, for attack, I want to use a sword. Fire Fist is useless, Silent Steps is tempting but too assassin-like...

Ominous Night fits me perfectly. For defense; I'll definitely choose Kronos's Ancient Third Eye."

—Alright Maver, I've decided. For defense, Kronos's Ancient Third Eye; for attack, I'll take Ominous Night.

—Good choice, kid. Maver took the core, extended it, and stabbed it into me.

—Rghhhhh you son of a bitch, Maver!!!!

A massive flash of light erupted.

I had finally succeeded — I had a new power now...

Inside the Grand Church...

A blue-haired knight, clearly handsome, was silently watching the man who was praying...

He bowed, lifted his head, and spoke.

—Master Neron, why did you call me here?

The man finished his prayer, stood up, turned around, and spoke with a smile.

—The time has come. The new sacrifice has been found.

—What is his name, sir?

—Yhazem. Kill him within one month.

—Understood, Great Priest. Any other orders?

—That is all.

...Ever since I acquired the skills, my training had increased even more. Which made sense — the tournament was coming soon after all.

But right now...

"What the hell is happening???"

—Grab your sword, Yhazem, and stand up. This time I won't hold back.

"Shit, it's only been two days since I got the skills. These two days were rough but… at least not as rough as today!!!"

—Master Maver, defeating you is impossible in both worlds…

—Stupid kid, of course I know that. That's why I won't use Aura. I'll limit my physical strength, speed, and endurance too.

I grabbed my sword, focused, and activated my skill — Kronos's Ancient Third Eye.

I dashed forward, he deflected me with one hand. I jumped back. I stood up again, smirking.

Shall we continue?

...

Someone was watching the epic fight happening in the arena. A person whose beauty and nobility were obvious at first glance — the Swordborne Princess Julia.

—How is the match, my lady?

The young servant asked.

—Julia, with a brief spark of admiration in her eyes, answered, "Very beautiful..."
