Chapter 12 - Morgos

Yes, yes… Damn it, what the hell is happening?!

When I heard the voice yesterday in Moros, this was the first thing that came to my mind. And now this strange little one-eyed creature that looks like a floating ball and refuses to leave my side… What the hell is this thing?

Whenever I ask, the only answer I get is that it's "the great sorcerer Morgoth's pet."

Rahahhhh… Fuck this.

Anyway… it's actually useful. For example, right now so maybe another time ı will work about it…

For the past 3 hours, that bastard Maver has been torturing me under the name of training.

In 3 hours: 100 sit-ups, 100 tests, 300 sword swings, a full hour of endurance food, and 1 hour of nonstop running…

What the hell is this?!

While running, I took a short break and asked the one-eyed freak next to me:

"Hey Morgos, what the hell are you?"

I raised my brows as I spoke. Honestly, I don't trust him, but he didn't let me sleep last night, so we ended up talking—well, one-sided talking.

"Master, as I said, I am your assistant's—"

"Damn it… alright, alright," I cut him off.

"Hey, tell me the truth. Is this really enough for me to win?"

"I'm sorry, master. My words may anger you, but… no. You cannot win. It's impossible."

My face fell. Maver, that bastard…

"But don't be upset, master. I can make you stronger, if you wish. Far stronger.

But first, please return to your room."

"Fine."

I stopped walking and headed to my room.

---

"Maver."

"Yes, my lady?"

"What do you think? Can she win?"

"No, impossible. No matter how much I train her, even if she gets stronger, she cannot use aura. Caester is a whole different case. If she can't defeat the others first, Caester… is a monster. Even if we gave her our best ability, she wouldn't win."

"I see…"

"My lady, I can still abduct you and get you out of here. Are you sure you want to accept your fate?"

"Maver… run away? Where, how, when?

Is it even worth it? I was never wanted. Never accepted. Rejected by my family, rejected by my friends… I'm completely alone. Even if I succeed and escape… what changes?"

"You're right, my lady."

Maver sighed, lowering his head sadly.

---

I went to my room and sat in a lotus position. Morgos transformed into a copy of me and touched my back.

"If you're ready, I'll begin, master.

Squint your eyes and breathe deeply."

I followed his instructions.

"Do you feel anything inside, master?"

"Ah… yes, I think so."

There truly was a warm touch—soothing, comforting.

Suddenly, specks of light appeared in the darkness, slowly merging together.

Morgos shouted:

"Do not lose confidence in yourself, master! And don't open your eyes!"

I obeyed. The lights drew closer, merging. I walked toward them and touched them. They were warm…

"Master, that's enough! Don't absorb more!"

My body began to burn. Within seconds I was sweating, pain spreading everywhere.

My screams filled the room. I couldn't take it.

"Master, enough!"

Morgos sounded terrified.

And then—

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted in the room.

I lay on the floor. The last thing I heard was Morgos yelling:

"You're truly insane, master…"
