Xavier marched back into the center of the family gathering, his head held high despite the storm of guilt inside him. "Hello, everybody! As usual you all know—tomorrow, Robert and I are going head-to-head in an auto race!"
"Ohhh, wow!" Prince Elliot chuckled, leaning back. "Then what's the bet this time?"
At that moment, Robert and Levis stepped back into the room. Robert's eyes immediately locked onto Xavier's. He pulled Levis closer, gripping his wrist firmly as if marking his territory, his gaze a silent dare.
Xavier glanced at Levis, then smirked at the family. "I'll tell you all what the bet is tomorrow... after I win!" he said with supreme confidence.
"Ah, thank God," Catherine sighed. "I've been so bored lately. At least tomorrow we will have something to enjoy!" The rest of the family murmured in agreed.
The heavy doors opened, and Bright Aro stepped inside.
"Oh, Bright? What are you doing here?" Nova asked, walking straight toward him.
