Instead of driving to the high-security office locker, Steven turned his car toward the Heart of Sweet. The shop was a whirlwind of activity; Nora, Stofia, and the staff were frantically preparing decorations and sweets for tomorrow's royal event.
When Steven walked through the door, the air shifted. Bright, who was helping move crates, stood up immediately, his eyes narrowing. "What are you doing here?" Bright demanded, his voice cold and protective.
"Ah, Deputy Director," Steven said with a slick, professional smile. "It seems everyone is very happy for the engagement. The atmosphere is wonderful."
"It was until you showed up," Bright snapped.
"Bright! Calm down," Levis intervened, stepping forward. He looked at Steven with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity. "Sir Steven, what is the reason for your visit?"
"Take these, Sir Levis," Steven said, handing over the heavy leather folders.
