Chapter 29 - chapter 29

Izuku itched. It was clear now to him that Overhaul's mysophobia was very much a side effect of his Quirk. Feeling every particle touching his own skin and instinctively knowing what it was was maddening. No wonder the guy had been so unhinged.

Izuku wondered in a vain hope of distracting himself if this is what Tomura felt like all the time from his dry skin.

Amajiki reached out beside him and gently grabbed his hand. "Are you okay? You are scratching at your neck hard enough to bleed."

Izuku was torn between surprise that the normally soft spoken teen had just grabbed him to stop him and freaking out as the Quirk freaked out from the contact. "Let go. Let go. Let go."

Amajiki's hand recoiled instantly as Izuku found himself clawing at his own skin harder now. Shit. No wonder the guy wore gloves and a mask all the time.

Now the others who had been more focused on getting them all out of there to get them all to a hospital were all staring at him. Togata had a clear look of realization on his face as he seemed to come to the same conclusion as Izuku. Fat Gum however was clearly concerned. "Loki are you okay?"

Izuku chuckled to himself in the slightly unhinged manner that was becoming a bit common in his family. "I'm fine just don't touch me please. It hurts. I think it is an allergic reaction from something down here. Unless one of you has an Epipen on you, I need to get out of here quicker."

Thankfully, the others took that at face value and picked up the pace. Yeah, as soon as he saw his Dad he was going to force him to take Overhaul back. This sucked .

Hisashi was starting to run out of things to ramble about to keep Yagi busy. Running down the hero's clock was taking longer than he had first thought it would back at the start of the fight. From one of the camera feeds he was tapped into from one of the police cars' dash camera parked in front of the compound, he spotted his family leaving the underground systems at last. Hisashi felt his stomach twist when he spotted Izuku as the boy pushed past emergency workers to steal an epipen from the ambulance that they were loading Mirai onto.

Every centimeter of his son's exposed skin was covered in hives and had clearly been clawing at them from the bloody marks around his eyes. Hisashi would have to use Eri's Quirk on him later so that he didn't end up with matching scars with Tomura.

"What? Finally run out of things to say?"

Hisashi found his full attention back on Yagi for the moment. "My apologies, I will be right back."

In a quick Kinetic Booster enhanced step Hisashi was in the middle of the police and heroes in front of Izuku. He reached out and placed his hand on top of his son's head once more. "I'll be taking that back now. It seems Overhaul was a poor fit for you anyways."

Hisashi ignored the sounds of guns drawing and Endeavor's flames increasing around them as he carefully extracted Overhaul from his son. Thankfully it seemed that Danger Sense wanted just as much to do with the other Quirk as Izuku's immune system and it easily uprooted and settled back within his own Quirk. Then he was moving clear to stop All Might from bringing their fight too close.

"That should hopefully be the last time we are interrupted at least on my part."

"What, you give the boy a Quirk and then immediately took it back? That seems particularly cruel."

Hasashi tilted his head slightly so that All Might and the cameras could pick up on his confusion more easily. "Yes? His body was rejecting it anyways so if I had not taken it back it would have possibly killed him. Besides, the boy is rather proud of his goal of being the first Quirkless Hero. Who am I to stomp all over his dreams? I am not you after all."

From the wince All Might gave at that, Hisashi was happy to out such a major failing on the other man's part. "Where did you hear that?"

"You are aware that the boy is more than happy to share the story with anyone who will listen? How he specifically became a vigilante to prove you wrong? Not that I personally thought it should have been necessary given the nature of Sir Nighteye's Quirk."

Huh, Hisashi hadn't realized the man could get any paler. "Sir's Quirk-?"

"Still in his possession. As I said earlier, I am not in the habit of keeping the Quirks of the still living."

"Why would you help save him then?"

Ah. All Might had him there. How to play this? "His Quirk would likely react poorly if I was to collect it right now. Temporal Quirks are finicky things and have a tendency of imploding on me if I hold more than one of them at a time. My wife would likely be cross with me if I broke our youngest Quirk while I was temporarily borrowing it."

"You took the Quirk of one of your own children?"

Hisashi shrugged. "Her Quirk is not exactly the most stable at the best of times. It is safer for everyone that I briefly borrow it to deactivate it when her power begins to cascade for now until she gets a better handle on things. Once all the extra stockpiled energy burns off her, I always give it back. I used to have to do something similar with one of her older brothers. Do keep in mind that my children are only second generation not the fifth generation they would have been had my wife married someone closer in age. The instability is just to be expected."

"Your wife? The mother of your children? Does she know what you really are?"

Hisashi felt a grin spread over his face. "The most perfect woman I have ever met." He allowed himself a wistful sigh. "Even knowing from the start what I was, she still humored my advances. I am not sure how I managed to get so lucky."

Hisashi was a bit annoyed that All Might looked visibly ill at the thought in the eyes of the helicopter camera circling them. "But you're so old!"

Hisashi brought a hand up to rest up against his chest in mock hurt. "You well know I haven't aged a day over 35."

"You're over 200!"

Hisashi shrugged. "Chronologically, yes, I suppose that is true. Physically not so much. Regardless, she has never partially cared about that fact. How are you holding up by the way? Getting tired yet?"

All Might huffed as his next blow was once more repelled away with hardly a thought. "I could do this all day!"

Hisashi laughed at that. "Now we both know that is a lie All Might. Under normal circumstances you are only running around for about three hours a day now and even if you had not used your Quirk before coming here for the raid, you would have already burned nearly an hour. I can only imagine that the extra power you keep putting behind your punches is costing more and more of your time allowance. Now the truth, how much longer will we be playing this game?"

Hisashi punctuated the point with another jab to the man's scarred side only to be rewarded with the man losing his transformation in a cloud of steam. "Oh dear, it seems I have popped the balloon…"

He could hear the panic in the voices of those watching from nearby as All Might struggled to recover as he coughed up a not insignificant amount of blood. Hisashi grinned to himself as he gave a short bow to the news camera. "Well that was the last thing I wanted to do. Until next time, Yagi ." He retreated to the pick up point.

Eri was not sure what she had just watched on the TV. Shortly after Mr. Tomura and his friends appeared in the room looking even scarier than before with all the blood, he had demanded they turn on the "news" to see what his Father was doing. As she saw the man trying to hurt him turn small she let out a gasp. "Did he take his Quirk too?"

The nice Mr. Detective Man ruffled her hair with a shake of his head. "No, All Might has the one Quirk he cannot touch. He just fought him until his time on his transformation ran out."

Mr. Kurogiri let out a small "Ah." and opened up another one of his strange doorways that Mr. Sensei was quick to step through.

"Well that was fun outside of the whole Overhaul hurting Shouta and Mirai and his subordinate shooting Izuku thing." He pulled his weird mask off and offered the room at large a smile as he blinked in even the room's dim light.

Ms. Inko let out a small gasp at the sight. "I know everyone said Eri healed you but knowing and seeing are two different things."

The man crossed the short distance across the room and picked her up by the waist to pull the much shorter woman in for a kiss before immediately setting her down and tugging the detective who had been standing next to her in for one as well. That earned a few startled reactions from around the room.

"What?!"

"Wait since when has this been a thing?!"

"Oh! Does this mean the Detective is our other Dad now?"

"A little warning would have been nice!"

"Ew go be gross somewhere else!"

Eri giggled as Mr. Sensei looked around the room with an unrepentant grin as Mr. Detective Man flushed red and refused to look at anyone else in response. Mr. Sensei frowned. "Where is Hyouka? Shouldn't he be back here already?"

Mr. Kurogiri held up his phone to show Mr. Sensei. "He is stuck on the roof still since Hawks flew back to where he was after you scared him and is now having a bit of a meltdown. He plans on messaging for a pick up once he can get away."

The man nodded before looking around the room once more. "Everyone who is planning on going to the hospital once someone calls Inko should go get cleaned up. Tomura, even if you are not going, please go take a shower. I am sure Kurogiri would prefer it if you were not leaving blood all over the bar."

There was grumbling before most everyone vanished out the two different doors until only Mr. Kurogiri, Mr. Detective Man, Ms. Inko and Mr. Sensei were left with Eri. Ms. Inko gave him a look. "Not going to go clean up yourself, Hisashi?"

He shrugged. "In a bit, I need to talk with Eri here real Quick though about her Quirk."

"You are giving it back right?" Eri found herself tensing at Mr. Detective Man's question.

Mr. Sensei (Mr. Hisashi?) frowned before lowering himself back down to her level once more. "Eri your Quirk is not a bad thing. You used it to fix me, remember? I can hold on to it a bit longer but it would be better if you took it back now. We will want the people who would want to take you away from us to think your Quirk is a powerful healing gift, which it is , but if they found out how it actually works then they would want to use you like Overhaul did."

Eri bit her bottom lip. "I can stay with you? Really?"

He gave her a soft smile as he reached over to cup her cheek gently. "Of course. I would be happy to have you as my daughter."

Ms. Inko kneeled down too. "For years I have wanted daughters as well as sons. I'm sure Himiko will be thrilled to have a sister. The boys as well of course."

Eri smiled. "Okay. What do I need to do so I can stay?"

---MiM-MiM-MiM---

Eri found herself giggling wildly as she found herself riding on her Tomura-nii's shoulders wearing brand new clothes into the hospital to meet the rest of her new family who had been hurt trying to help stop Mr. Overhaul. Himiko-nē walked just in front of them beside Dabi-nii looking back and making silly faces at her. Beside them, Hyouka-nii, who had shown up just as they arrived, was occasionally making faces back at her. Their group was being led by her new Mama and Papa while her new Dad trailed behind them with her new Uncle Giri.

She had settled on calling them Mama, Papa, and Dad because while they were her new family, she didn't want to forget her old one she had lost. Neither of her new fathers would ever be Daddy but that was okay. Mr. Sensei had become Dad since that was what Himiko-nē, Hyouka-nii and Izuku-nii (that she would soon meet) called him. Tomura-nii referred to him exclusively as Father but Eri thought that was a bit too formal and Dabi-nii only ever called him the Old Man which seemed a bit mean.

Papa was a different story. Apparently, he only recently became their other father recently too so none of them quite knew what to call him. Most still used his name or just called him Detective. It was a bit strange but he was nice and everyone liked him even if they were not used to the change quite yet.

Up ahead, a blonde boy in an oversized orange hoodie stood up from where he had been sitting with a large man in a similar hoodie and a boy around his age with indigo hair to rush over to meet them. "Loki and Eraserhead are both going to be okay. Loki's allergic reaction is going down so he should be free to leave shortly. Eraser has a concussion and is getting a blood transfusion since the blood loss is likely making it worse. Loki did a good job at fixing the damage while he briefly had Overhaul's Quirk that the doctors don't even think he will have any lasting damage. Sir on the other hand is still in surgery to see if they can salvage his spine. If not, he should still survive but he would not walk again."

Mama nodded with a frown. "Do you know how soon we will be able to see him? If Eri can see him soon enough, she might be able to reverse the damage completely."

The boy sucked in a breath as he looked up at Eri when her Mama gestured to her. "Really?"

Tomura-nii nodded. "The Brat has a hell of a powerful healing Quirk but she has a time limit for when it will work on people. Only a couple hours."

Suddenly Eri found herself shying away and burying her face in her big brother's shoulder as she felt so many eyes on her.

"Can she really?"

"Wow what a nice Quirk."

"What a perfect Quirk for a future doctor!"

"Do you think she could help my son with his broken wrist?"

Slowly she looked up as more and more positive thoughts about her Curse, no, her Quirk spilled around the room. Her new family had closed ranks around her. "Given she can only heal so much before she is hit with Quirk exhaustion, she will not be helping heal anyone unless they are in a dire state. After she heals my brother, I will leave it up to her and the doctors if she helps anyone else out. She is only 5 for goodness sake."

Eri felt a smile on her face as her new mother chewed the strangers that had been crowding them out.

"Midoriya Inko?"

Her mother turned to look at the woman who called her name. "Yes?"

"If you and your daughter could come back with me I can take you to see him."

"Can one of my sons or other daughter come too? Eri gets nervous around strangers and she feels safer with at least one of them."

The woman looked over their group with a strange look on her face before seeming to settle on Himiko-nē. "You can bring her sister along."

"Hah, take that losers!" Himiko-nē stuck her tongue out at their brothers and then held out her arms to help Eri down. Tomura-nii rolled his eyes at her as he lowered Eri to the floor.

"We can go get Greenie without you."

Eri found herself walking hand in hand between her big sister and Mama as the lady walked them back after Mama quickly wrote something on the clipboard at the desk. As they got farther and farther away from the safety of the group, Eri slowly felt fear begin to constrict her chest. The smells and appearance of the place reminding her of Mr. Overhaul even if this number of people around would have never happened around the man. Himiko-nē gave Eri's hand a reassuring squeeze before quickly readjusting one of her sweater's sleeves so that Eri could see the shine of metal that briefly slipped into her palm.

Oh. Her sister had a knife. She would keep Eri safe.

Mirio watched as Midoriya's mother and sister strolled away with the little girl that they had gone into the raid to find. Interestingly enough, she looked just as much related to the group as all of the other siblings minus the plainly adopted Himiko. That, oddly enough, included the frankly horribly disguised Todoroki Shoto. He was wearing a plain white wig like the one Midoriya Tomura had been wearing earlier albeit a lower quality and an eye patch over his scarred eye.

From the noise Fat Gum made once he had wandered closer, Mirio had not been the only one to notice. He gave the Detective that had shown up with the group a confused look. The man sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Are Loki and Eraser together in one room?" At a nod, he continued. "Can we go back and see them? I would rather we not have this conversation in the middle of such a crowded public space.

So that is how Mirio crammed into one hospital room with All for One, two members of the League of Villains, a man made of dark mist, a "missing" kid, a detective, a vigilante, his best friend, and two Pro Heroes, one of which was still out cold.

As soon as the door closed, Fat Gum pointed at Todoroki. "Aren't you the missing son of Endeavor?"

The boy huffed before deadpanning. "Oh no, you have seen right through my cunning disguise."

Both All for One and Midoriya snorted before Midoriya reached over from his spot on the bed to shove the boy who had sat down on it with him off. "You didn't even put the makeup on and what is that wig? Why did you even bother if you weren't going to try?"

He shrugged from his new place on the floor. "Didn't have time or my supplies. Hawks held me up with his panic attack and wanted to try and take me back."

"So why even come then?"

"Both Hitoshi and Katsuki said you could not be trusted to not try and break out of the hospital and that Better Dad, Dabi, Tomura and Himiko would just encourage it."

Mirio found himself choking on air at that. Sure, he knew Todoroki didn't get along with Endeavor from the comments the game table had thrown around back at the convention but hearing the boy blatantly refer to All for One like that in front of people was just as hilarious as the implications were horrific.

Fat Gum looked to the Detective for guidance. "Wait so the kid wasn't kidnapped?"

From the floor the boy piped up. "I left a note. Not my fault he didn't believe anything I said in it."

The Detective sighed and shook his head. "He has largely been living with the Midoriya's for the past month and a half. He has also stayed over at Shouta's and my place to sleep over with Shouta's kid so yeah I have known about the arrangement basically the whole time. From best I can tell, he had been living with the Midoriya's for nearly a week before Endeavor, the only other person currently living with him, even noticed and that only happen because his sister Fuyumi had swung by their home to drop of pre-prepared meals for the two of them and realized Shoto hadn't eaten his from the previous week. Those red flags alone were enough that I was fine leaving the kid to do his own thing for now."

Fat Gum seemed to reluctantly accept that. He gestured around the room. "We should probably do introductions, I'm Toyomitsu Taishiro but you can just keep calling me Fat Gum if you want."

"Togata Mirio, future Pro Hero Lemillion."

"Amajiki Tamaki… Suneater…"

The man made of mist flickered as he looked at them. "Ah. It is good to put faces to names. I am Kurogiri Oboro. I am one of the co-owners of my bar and an old friend of both Eraserhead and Present Mic."

Midoriya Tomura scratched at his neck lightly before he spoke. "Midoriya Tomura, one of this brat's older half-brothers and the other co-owner of the bar. I handle the books and logistics and he deals with people."

Dabi rolled his eyes. "Midoriya Dabi, the other half-brother. I'm the other bartender currently."

Todoroki looked Fat Gum dead in the eyes. "Midoriya Hyouka."

All for One chuckled before patting the boy on the head. "Given that everyone here already knows Izuku and Naomasa, that is just me left. Midoriya Hisashi, father of not only this lot and my two daughters with my wife but adoptive father to Shouta as well due to him still being under Inko's guardianship back when we first married. I largely work in real estate since I inherited quite a few properties given that before my kids were born I was the sole remaining living member of my family." He shrugged.

Oh. That is why despite Aizawa-sensei being Midoriya's uncle, he had referred to All for One as his father while he was out of it. Fat Gum looked at the two older boys curiously. "Half brothers?"

Midoriya snorted. "Both Dabi and Tomura are bastards. In both of their cases their mothers led Dad on for a while before he found out that both of them were married. Dad got custody of Tomura after his bio-mom, her husband and the rest of the family died while we didn't even know about Dabi until fairly recently. He largely grew up on the streets as a result."

"Oh, was that why you weren't using a family name back at HeroCon?"

Heavily scarred man nodded. "Yeah we were still suspicious that we were related at the time but the test results hadn't come back yet. I didn't want anything to do with my mother, her family or her husband though. I mean, my other half siblings from that side aren't bad but I've been legally dead since I was like 12 so who the fuck knows what they even remember about me." He shrugged.

The Detective groaned at that. "Yeah that was a pain to figure out. It is much easier to declare someone dead than it is to legally bring them back to life."

Fat Gum turned his attention back to the Detective. "That reminds me, why did you show up with all of them?"

The man quirked his head slightly. "Because I was spending my enforced time off with Inko and Hisashi?"

"Enforced time off?"

All for One huffed. "He had a seizure in the station a few weeks ago and ended up in the hospital after forgetting how to breathe on his own for a bit. Up until a few days ago, he was using my old respirator from back when I had my Quirk accident and burned my lungs."

Mirio winced at that. "Fire breathing Quirk right?"

The man smiled. "Correct. You have no idea how glad I was that none of my kids inherited it given it has no secondary quirk mutation for heat resistance at all which is not the norm and how annoyed I was to discover after the fact that Dabi inherited an even stronger pyrokinesis Quirk from the combination of the Quirk and his mother's."

Mirio could see the exact moment it clicked for both Tamaki and Fat Gum. "Wait your Blueflame?"

Dabi rolled his eyes. "Obviously. It is not like I even tried to hide my voice. Funnily enough, if it wasn't for Shigaraki from the League pointing me in Loki's direction I might not have ever known we were all related."

"Shigaraki?"

Dabi shrugged. "All for One's successor and kid apparently, though that was a nasty shock when I found out that fact. I didn't know the big boss was coming until he showed up a few minutes before the raid."

To Mirio's surprise Tamaki interjected. "Why wear so much orange if the name you use is Blueflame?"

Dabi scratched the back of his head. "The first couple times Mr. Compress offered to loan me a spare version of his costume, I wore it since it would hide my scars completely with no effort on my part but after I got shot we realized it was vital that we protect Compress from getting hurt since he was our way out of tight spots. Between me, another body double, and the clones that Twice can make, there can be up to five of him running around at once so the real one is less likely to be hurt."

"That seems unnecessarily complicated."

Dabi shrugged. "Eh, probably."

Fat Gum was studying the man with a conflicted look on his face. "So why are you even in the League of Villains in the first place?"

"Because now I can fuck with Endeavor with backup. Seriously, fuck that guy. I have no idea how he is still allowed to carry a hero license. I think the bastard has a bigger body count than All for One at this point."

It seemed that Fat Gum was not sure how to respond to that. As All for One changed the topic, Mirio felt Tamaki tugging on his borrowed hoodie courtesy of Fat Gum to hide the blood on his own costume. With an understanding that could only come from being close friends with someone for years, Mirio followed his friend out of the room and outside the hospital to have a private chat. "Why did you lie?"

"What?"

Tamaki gave him an exasperated look. "Back when we first ran into you guys again, you said you didn't know why All for One helped but you do don't you?"

Mirio grimaced slightly. "Ah, I had forgotten that in the chaos. Yeah that is an easy one but you have to promise not to say anything yet. Not until we can do a bit more digging."

His friend bobbed his head. "Okay. I trust you."

"Midoriya's father is All for One."

Tamaki's eyes widened. "What?"

"I don't know the full story yet but I found out when Aizawa-sensei called him Dad while he was briefly awake and completely out of it. Also on another related note, like half of the League is made up of Midoriya's siblings and their friend Sako from the convention. It took me a second to put two and two together but Midoriya Himiko clearly is disguising herself as Sako with her Quirk."

"Huh. What should we do about it?"

Mirio found himself just shrugging. "For now, we'll wait and see. Even ignoring the League, just All for One alone is too big a fish to fry for now. Maybe in the future, when we are both Pros, we might be able to do something but as strange as all of this is, I do trust that Sir wouldn't have let the man marry his sister if he was actually a danger to people."

"All right, we will wait. Are we at least going to loop in Nejire as to what is going on?"

Mirio gave his best friend a bright smile. "Yeah, she would kill us later if she found out we didn't tell her. Come on, we don't want to worry Fat Gum."
