Ana's POV
After spending the entire night wrestling with my thoughts, I'd finally made peace with what went down yesterday. There was no point in letting things stay this tense between my brothers and me.
Morris and I had just made things official, and our relationship was still finding its footing.
I figured we should take it slow, one day at a time.
What I didn't see coming was discovering the next morning that Edwin and Fred had basically put me under house arrest.
"You need to focus on healing from that injury, Ana. Madeline can handle the studio for now—I've already filled her in," Edwin said, his voice maddeningly calm.
I wanted to smooth things over, but the words died in my throat. My mood soured instantly.
"What the hell is this supposed to mean, Edwin?"
"We're looking out for you, Ana," he replied.
I completely lost my appetite. Setting my chopsticks down with more force than necessary, I pushed back from the table without another word and headed upstairs.
