Ana's POV
Hunter's expression darkened further.
He jabbed a finger toward Madeline. "Which one of you is actually running this place?"
Madeline gestured in my direction.
"She's the owner. I'm a partner handling hiring right now."
Hunter let out a dismissive snort.
"So someone in charge of hiring, with zero relevant experience, has the nerve to trash my designs. Have you no shame?"
His tone was harsh, and I watched Madeline's cheeks flush red with fury.
She'd never been one to back down from a fight, and I could see her gearing up to fire back when I reached out and caught her wrist, giving her a calming look.
"I've got this."
Madeline swallowed her anger, shot Hunter a withering glare, and retreated to the reception area.
Hunter approached and thrust his sketch toward me.
"As the owner, surely you're different from these amateurs who don't know their place, right?
