Aileen fled back to the hotel like she was running from something.
The second she walked through the door, she collided with Ridley.
Ridley spotted her frazzled appearance and his brow creased.
"Where've you been? I told you to pack up and get ready to head back to Veridia tonight. Did you pack?" Ridley demanded.
Ice shot through Aileen's veins. Seeing Ridley, she threw herself into his arms without thinking.
Ridley went rigid, then felt the woman trembling against him and pulled her close.
His voice went soft. "What's wrong?"
Aileen shook her head against Ridley Collin's chest. "Ridley, let's leave now. When we get back, let's get married, okay?"
The word "marriage" made Ridley's jaw tighten.
"Aileen, I already told you—"
"Don't blow me off with that mourning excuse again!" she snapped. "We can get the certificate without a ceremony. Or are you planning to stay celibate forever for Ana?"
"Aileen!" His voice went ice-cold.
