Evelin's POV
I stared at Jimmy, genuinely stunned. It was rare to see him this shaken, and it piqued my curiosity.
Balancing on my crutches, I moved toward him and crouched down to retrieve the tie from the floor.
"What, shocked? I'm in love with you, so naturally I want you. Look, Dr. Erik was right—we need to wait until these bandages come off before we do anything," I said.
Jimmy lifted his gaze, meeting my eyes directly. "You still want me?"
"Obviously. I told you I love you. Wanting to be intimate with someone you love—that's perfectly normal, isn't it?" I replied.
"You've seen all these scars now that the bandages are off. Don't they disgust you?" Jimmy mumbled, self-loathing evident in his voice. His body was a battlefield—old wounds layered with new ones. Even his own reflection repulsed him.
I could see the miserable look on his face, as if he were wondering how I could possibly want him when he looked like this.
