Evelin's POV
I burst from the restroom stall, catching only a fleeting shadow disappearing from the bathroom.
Racing outside, I found myself surrounded by mall crowds—impossible to identify who'd just made that threatening call.
The voice had promised the bomb would detonate on schedule.
A timer device, then?
If Jimmy was the target, the explosive had to be close by.
I had to reach him immediately and clear the building.
My fingers dialed a number I'd avoided for months.
"Evelin?" That familiar voice answered—one I'd known so intimately before.
"It's me. I'm at Reid Mall." I rapidly explained what I'd overheard in the bathroom. "Real threat or not, we need this place evacuated to prevent casualties."
"Based on a single phone call? Mass evacuation could trigger panic."
"You're capable of managing this. Please!"
"So without today's crisis, you'd never have contacted me again, right?"
"I'm sorry!"
