Evelin's POV
"What are you..." I stared at the pillow in his grip, a sinking feeling telling me exactly what this meant.
"I want to sleep in your room tonight," Jimmy announced.
"And why would that be?" I demanded.
"Being alone in that room terrifies me. You're my bodyguard—you'll keep me safe, won't you?" His tone was completely serious.
I nearly choked on my own breath.
I'd watched him demolish every attacker who came at him, seen him disarm a gunman without even flinching.
And here he stood, delivering this line with a perfectly straight face.
"Don't you have other bodyguards posted outside your door?" I pointed out. Several Hamilton family security personnel had made the trip to ensure his protection.
"They're not you. You're the only one I trust," he said simply.
The words left me speechless.
I exhaled slowly, resignation settling in. "Fine. You take the bed, I'll crash on the couch."
After all, I was technically his bodyguard now.
