Grey couldn't recall how he'd hung up the phone. His thoughts spun in circles while Grace emerged from the interrogation room.
"I had nothing to do with this, Grey," Grace said, stepping closer. "Yes, I overheard your mother and sister discussing your divorce from Evelin, but I never imagined they'd resort to something this extreme to force it."
Grey remained silent, studying her face.
His lack of response triggered her anger. "You don't trust me? You actually think I'd sink to such disgusting tactics just to break up your marriage?"
"If that's what you believe, don't bother looking for me again. I won't be anyone's scandal."
Grace spun around to leave, but Grey quickly moved to block her path.
"I'm sorry, Grace. Everything that happened today has me completely rattled." His apology was genuine.
Grace's expression softened slightly. "Grey, you should know I'm not the kind of person who uses dirty tricks to destroy someone. If I wanted your divorce, I'd tell you directly."
