Jasmin's POV
The words struck me like lightning before his mouth claimed mine.
"I love you."
His confession shattered the air between us, and then his lips were on mine, soft and devastating. The world tilted beneath my feet as warmth spread through every nerve ending. This wasn't the brutal claiming I might have expected from an Alpha. Instead, his kiss was achingly gentle, as if I were made of spun glass that might break under too much pressure.
My eyes flew wide, but my body refused to obey my commands. All I could process was the heat of his mouth moving against mine, the way his fingers threaded through my hair to cradle my neck, the intoxicating scent that was purely him wrapping around me like a drug. My lungs forgot how to function properly, and my heart hammered so violently I was certain he could hear it.
