The words that escaped Max's lips struck me like lightning.
"I have a thing for him."
Every nerve in my body went electric. My pulse hammered against my throat as his declaration echoed in my mind, sending shockwaves through my carefully constructed composure.
Did he actually just say that?
My wolf responded instantly to the raw honesty in his voice, drawn to him like a moth to flame. The pull between us intensified until I could barely think straight.
Heat bloomed in my chest, spreading outward in waves that had nothing to do with embarrassment or fury. This was something far more treacherous.
