Chapter 25 - Chapters in: New skill

"Hey, this person is an Otherworlder, right?" The dragon lady said to Sheila. Sheila, nodded to her words.

"Isn't reaching 100 points in your endurance stats make you obtain the Spirit stat? If I remember correctly, each point in this stat is equal to 50 points in endurance." The dragon lady said, trying to get Sheila to say anything.

"So, how many points do you think he has in this stat?" Hearing this, Sheila said:

"I don't know, but I don't want to know what one had to go through to reach such a stat."

Endurance stat.

One of the lowest stats in your status window, it is said that the lower the stats in your window, the more important it is. And the lower the stats, the rarer it is to be able to increase them by using your AP on it.

The reason for this stat to be the second-lowest is because of how impossible it is, to increase it after reaching 30 points within it. There have been many people out there who have lived after experiencing the worst thing possible that one can go through, examples of these are:

Going through hell and coming back alive.

Being tortured for months and freeing oneself from this moment.

Dying by having your entire body destroyed and coming back alive.

These three are just one of the best possible ones one needs to go through to just have increased one's endurance stats by 10-20 points. So, having more than 50 points in your Endurance stats, is already considered high for everyone in this world.

'Yet, Nine has reached over 100 points on it.' Sheila and the dragon lady thought at the same time.

---

After giving answers to three questions, Nine was finally given a chance to have a peaceful mind, letting him walk beside them without continuing to talk. Slowly, Nine murmured: "Status"

Seeing how he has 6 AP points, Nine didn't hesitate to place all of them into his Vitality stat, putting its number at 58 points. Looking at his Skill points, he looked at the group and said:

"How do you guys learn new skills?" Looking back at him, Sheila asked:

"Skill books, Title rewards, Dungeon drops, Class skills, these are the easiest way to learn new skills."

"Sorry, skill books are off the table for me. Wasn't one of them worth around 10 gold coins? Along with the other ways too. So, do you guys have any other method for obtaining one?"

"Hmm. Well, you can just learn it from another person." The dragon lady said. "Don't you know? You can use your SP points to buy an already existing skill from another person....." A small pause was in between her words, before continuing.

"But, when you decide to sell a skill from another person, you'll lose a significant amount of proficiency, and one level of the skill they learn. So, not many really do this. Except for those retired people, enjoying the last few years of their life in their home and family."

Hearing this option, Nine said, "I have 17 SP points, so do you guys know anyone I can buy a skill from?"

"Wait! 17!? What skill do you want to learn? I'm willing to have you learn them if I have them for 10 SP points." The dragon lady screamed.

Currently, she and Sheila have already met the second wall of their Level limit, so they cannot obtain any SP points anymore. Having an opportunity like this is rare, since most people would not do this kind of thing, since one can only get one SP point per level.

Although the other three are willing to give them some SP points, the two are embarrassed to take them, since they feel like they are using them for their own gain.

"Resistance. A skill that can help me resist almost any status effects, if possible." Hearing what Nine wanted, she started looking for all her Passive skills that have resistance effects.

After a minute of silence, a window appeared before Nine:

[Name: Dragon existence. Type: Trait.

— As a dragon, your very existence should be on top of every race, making you the top of the food chain, immune to the works of those weaker than you.

Effects: Have 90% resistance to all status effects.]

"Though, you might receive a much weaker version, since you're not a dragon..... Right?" She asked, questioning whether Nine was one, since she knew that having 100 points in the endurance stat was abnormal.

"Don't worry, I'm not one. Also, how can I learn this? There's no option here or instructions on how I can learn it." Nine said, looking at every crevice of the window.

Raising her hand, Nine questions: "What?"

"Shake my hand. We just need to say our name and the thing I want to give to you. Then you'll get it." She said, still waiting for Nine's hand.

Grabbing her hand, Nine waited for her to start. As the two of them made the exchange, the four waited on the side, watching everything, since this kind of act is impossible to witness.

"I, Mayari, am willing to let my Trait be learn by this person, in exchange for 10 SP points."

"I, Nine am willing to give 15 SP points to learn the Trait." Nine said, surprising Mayari. Before Mayari could let go of his hand, the exchange commenced.

[The exchange between the two of you has been completed.

Within this exchange, the individual, Mayari, has received 15 SP points while losing 10% of the trait effects.

While the individual, Nine, has lost 15 SP points, in exchange for obtaining the trait, which has been changed into a skill called Dragon Resistance.]

"Let's go! Hahaha, a resistance effects skill is here!" Nine celebrated, with his newly acquired skill.

"Wait! Wasn't the deal only 10 points? Why would you say that?" Mayari said, confused at the sudden change in Nine's exchange rate. Nine looked at her and said:

"Don't worry about it. Besides, I feel horrible for making you lose a large percentage of your trait. Besides, ten points of those SP points I gave you aren't even mine to begin with." He explained, remembering how he obtained ten points on it, after learning this world language back then.

Clapping his hand, Nine said: "Well then. Should we go back now? I'm starting to feel weird with how the air is going through below me." Seeing how Nine didn't seem to mind what just happened, they once again started moving on.

After ten minutes of walking, the group managed to get back to the flat plain near the town walls, where the people hunting there, glared at Nine wearing a sundress with not a single trace of embarrassment.

While the five covered their faces, not wanting to be involved in the incoming rumors around Nine once again. Entering the guild, Nine placed down all the slime cores he had obtained in his hunt, while leaving the Hill Slime core for remembrance of this event today.

"Nine," Elaine whispered. "Don't you have any sort of shame? Walking into the guild wearing that?" She said, pointing at his clothing.

"Look, it was this or a bikini armor." Nine explained, pointing at the five on the other table. "This was the best thing I could have worn from what they had. Besides, I didn't expect to lose my clothes in this hunt of mine."

Elaine, looking at Sheila's group said: "Couldn't you just ask their leader for clothes then?" Putting her left hand to her forehead.

"Ohh. You're right. Why didn't I do that?" Nine muttered, realizing this obvious option. "Fuck..... Can I just get the money for this? So I can pay for these clothes." He said.

Elaine, doing the exchange for the slime core, couldn't believe that this was the same person she had decided to become a personal helper to. Putting the money on the table, she said:

"Here. Give the payment for those clothes of yours and buy yourself a weapon now, will you?" She said, pointing at Sheila's group. Doing so, and moving back to her, she started talking again.

"I know you're confident enough not to lose in a battle by combining the use of that artifact of yours and the Rune spell. But at least have an actual weapon to use. And no, don't say that hammer of yours is a weapon."

Nine, seeing the disappointment on her face, answered: "Alright. I'll buy one. Besides, I know a person who can help me with it." He said, remembering the Elf shop owner, where he had been buying his mana and healing potions.

Tired after dealing with the Hill Slime for over an hour, Nine made his way to the dining area of the guild and ordered some food and drinks. Sitting down at a table, Sheila's group asked him:

"She's your personal helper?" Amazed at Nine's achievement. Out of the five siblings, Elaine is known for being the most..... Unfriendly? among them.

Unlike the other four, being friendly and warm to everyone, Elaine is known for being a Goddess of Ice. So having her as his personal helper amazed the group.

"How long has she been your personal helper?" Mayari asked.

"Don't remember? She just told me her name a few months ago and told me what a personal helper is back then."

Seeing the unbothered Nine about this matter, the group ordered some food for themselves and sat at the table. Nine seeing that they decided to join him here, let them be.
