Chapter 12 - 2 Million... Saved

Natalie looked at Luis with a flicker in her eyes. Indeed, with Luis abilities, he had no way of finding out her background.

She did invest a large sum of money some time ago, and even sold a property for it. If there were any losses, the total would be more than 2 million. She didn't tell anyone about this, so Luis had no way of knowing.

Taking a deep breath, Natalie suppressed the shock in her heart. "I understand. You can go out now. If it's true, I will thank you."

Luis glanced at Natalie, unsure if she took it seriously. But since he had already spoken, whether or not the losses were mitigated, it proved that what he said was true.

"Okay, Mrs. Natalie, I'll head out now." Luis stood up, nodded, and left.

Having just described himself as a disciple of a reclusive(hidden) sect, Luis was naturally trying to find a plausible identity for himself. In fact, at first, Luis thought he should keep a low profile and not change his personality and demeanor too quickly, so as not to arouse suspicion from others.

Now, he's openly telling Natalie that he can tell fortunes and knows what will happen in the future, and he also confronted Angler this morning, showing how different his personality is.

The two behaviors are actually contradictory. This is because Luis felt that if he continued to maintain his previous timid and introverted personality and slowly changed, he would not be able to complete the first task given by the system within the specified time.

It's better to be more direct.

Luis wondered if Natalie would call the police or have other thoughts after he said that. He thought it was almost impossible for her to call the police. Even if she did, the police would have to believe him.

As for having other thoughts, if what he said was true, people would be too busy trying to please him to have any other ideas.

Mysterious and supernatural things are what inspire the most awe.

Luis returned to his workstation. He was supposed to start work at 2 PM, but it was only 1 PM now. He had finished assembling the equipment and it was time to take a break. He lay down on the table and soon began to snore softly.

Luis was asleep, but Natalie was wide awake. More than 2 million was a considerable sum for anyone, and Natalie couldn't pretend that this hadn't happened.

She made several calls in a row, and within twenty minutes, she received a call back.

"Sister Natalie, you're amazing! That bastard was about to run away with the money, but we've caught him on his way to the plane!" an excited voice came from the other end .

"What!" Natalie was shocked. "Where is he going to run off to?"

"It's a small country in Africa. They've made all the preparations. If he actually manages to get there, we might not be able to find him."

On the phone, she said, "Sister Natalie, how did you know about this? It's amazing!"

"That fucker didn't tell anyone, he did it really well. When we cornered that fucker, he was completely bewildered. It's so damn funny!" The person on the other end of the conversation was probably too excited and couldn't help but swear.

"Don't swear!"

Natalie quickly came to her senses, but did not answer the question. Her eyes gleamed. "He took more than 2 million from me. He should still have it on him. After you get the money back, transfer it to my card. Keep one million for yourself."

"Alright!" The person on the other end chuckled, their spirits lifting. "Sister Natalie, when did you manage to get him so much money? Nobody knew!"

"Don't worry about that," Natalie said calmly without explaining. "Let's leave it at that for now. Go ahead and get busy."

"Fine! You can trust me to handle things. If he doesn't return the money, I'll kill him." The voice on the other end said fiercely.

"Don't do anything rash. The money is still with him. It's just a matter of how you get him to hand it over," Natalie warned.

She now basically believed Luis words. It was only a little past 1:40. Since Luis said that the loss would not be confirmed until after 2:00, and judging from that bastard's actions as he was about to board the plane, it was certain that once the plane took off normally, the money would be lost.

Once the plane takes off and he arrives in Africa, she will be unable to get the money back, thus confirming the loss. Since the plane hasn't even taken off yet, the money must still be with someone else.

Sitting in the chair, Natalie's chest heaved violently, and the buttons on her shirt seemed about to burst.

She never imagined that there really were such people in the world. In this society, to be able to detect danger one step ahead is such a powerful ability. How amazing it is that Natalie could already foresee Luis in the future.

"How could he tell me this?" As a woman, no matter how high her status was, Natalie's thoughts were always somewhat different from men's, and countless thoughts arose in her mind.

"He must be feeling terrible right now." Suddenly remembering how pale and weak Luis had looked when he came in, Natalie became anxious and quickly got up to open the door.

It was still noon, and most people were resting. Only a few people didn't take a nap at noon and instead read novels or played games on their phones.

Natalie spotted Luis sleeping at his workstation at a glance. At this moment, he was completely different in her eyes.

She felt gratitude, lingering fear, concern, and a feeling that was hard to describe.

The loss of more than 2 million is already affecting many things for her. She can't imagine what kind of predicament she will face if this investment fails.

She can hardly imagine it.

"Let's not disturb him for now." Natalie hesitated for a moment, then decided to wait until Luis woke up before looking for him.
