It was a unique experience getting to see monsters of all shapes and sizes, beasts and creatures alike, you'd never dream could ever exist, yet they were very much a product of reality.
It was also a weird, almost out-of-body experience, slicing through their thick hide-like skin and hearing the squelching noises that came with piercing through their chest cavities and pools of blood oozing out of their wounds.
For a brief moment, the scent of wildflowers drifted through the carnage, an unexpected aroma punctuating the violence. Then it disappeared, swallowed by the overpowering metallic tang of blood and the echo of distant screams.
Hearing those screams and screeches. It was enough to give you nightmares. But even as they walked through the dense forest and scorched earth, the team marched forward, everyone in their respective roles, watching each other's backs, devising strategies and formations, and sensing the area.
