It was around 5:30 PM that Kenneth received an alert from the Anchoring Centre.
He was to come down and perform his Anchor and pair duties. It would seem Lucien had returned from a mission, nearly depleting his energy reserves.
Kenneth didn't have to be told twice as he put his uniform back on and headed for the Centre.
An Enhanced Human's body worked relatively the same as a regular human's body.
The body constantly burned energy, and to supply that energy, it needed fuel. Enhanced powers worked the same way. Strikers had something called energy reserves. Kenneth, accustomed to the ebb and flow of his own energy, unconsciously flexed a fatigued hand, the muscles momentarily taut.
Think of this energy like a long glass of water that's been filled to the brim. Every time a Striker exerts energy or uses their powers, that water drains. Most of the power they used came from the surface, also known as active energy.
