Cornelia's POV
"You should run far away where we cannot reach you, because we are predators, my love. Monsters. You are prey surrounded by hunters."
"How serious are you being right now?" I whispered, threading my fingers through his dark hair and pulling hard. The groan that escaped his lips vibrated through me as I felt him grow harder beneath me.
"Serious about what?" His voice trembled like he was fighting against something primal.
"The hunter part," I breathed against his throat before sinking my teeth into the tender skin. The sound he made was raw and desperate.
God, I craved this control he was giving me.
"Cornelia," he gasped, tilting his head back completely vulnerable. "Do you realize I never expose myself like this? It shows weakness. If Colter witnessed this moment, he would be furious."
"Why is that, Caleb?" I continued my assault on his neck, addicted to the way he responded. "Explain it to me."
"Because we truly are monsters, love."
"What kind of monsters?"
