--------------------------------

Inside a dimly lit secret cave, an elderly figure sat upon a wide stone throne, with a simple yet sharp-looking scythe standing upright beside him.

At this moment, his gaze fell upon the person who had entered, or more precisely, on the unconscious child dangling from the visitor's hand, his fate unknown.

After sizing up the situation, the old man refocused his remaining eye on the 'thing' he had created. Though he never opened his mouth, that single eye, clearly reflecting three tomo, exerted seemingly infinite pressure!

The visitor was startled and hastily explained in an exaggerated voice: "I've already dealt with everyone who accidentally wandered into this area, but this child seems somewhat special. You instructed me recently to watch for 'seeds' with special talents, so I brought him back."

After hearing the explanation from this figure dressed entirely in white, the old man finally withdrew his stern gaze. The oppressive atmosphere dissipated instantly, and he returned to his image of a candle flickering in the wind, as if he might expire at any moment.

"Who were they, and did you clean up the trail?"

As the old man slowly spoke, the white figure hurriedly replied: "Ninjas from the Land of Earth. They seemed to be wiping out nearby villages. Recently, the war situation has been turning increasingly favourable for Konoha. Who knows what terrible scheme the Land of Earth came up with to deal with Konoha this time."

"Get to the point."

Upon hearing the name Konoha, the old man directly interrupted the other's rambling.

The white figure immediately shuddered, then quickly got to the important parts: "Some people who escaped from a nearby village were chased by pursuers into this area. It should be a coincidence, but they didn't discover anything."

Only then did the old man nod. He didn't ask how this fellow had handled things after killing everyone. If he couldn't even manage this small matter properly, it would mean he had no more value to exploit.

"What about this brat?"

At the mention of the child in his hands, the white figure immediately reverted to his jumpy nature, speaking with exaggerated excitement: "I had already captured everyone! The Rock Country ninjas, the fleeing villagers, and this child included. But when I was cleaning up the battlefield, I suddenly discovered that this child wasn't dead; he had come back to life!"

"Then, out of curiosity, I examined him carefully but couldn't find any reason why his fatal injuries disappeared and how he survived. I thought Lord Madara might be interested in this brat, so I brought him back."

After White Zetsu finished speaking, a hint of interest finally appeared in the eyes of the old man called Lord Madara.

As for White Zetsu killing both sides that had intruded into his territory, he felt nothing was wrong; this was precisely what he had ordered.

Under normal circumstances, this child shouldn't have been able to survive. White Zetsu certainly wouldn't violate his will or deceive him.

That meant everything White Zetsu said was true.

White Zetsu had personally killed this child, but while cleaning up the battlefield, he discovered the child had come back to life, with even his fatal injuries vanished, so he brought him back.

Interesting.

A somewhat terrifying smile appeared on Madara's aged face. He lifted his hand slightly, gesturing for White Zetsu to bring the child over. He wanted to examine him thoroughly.

If there was no suitable candidate by the day of his death, perhaps this child before him could offer another option.

It was just a pity that the one to inherit his name of Madara, wouldn't be a member of the Uchiha clan. This was somewhat regrettable.

So let's wait a bit longer.

Madara's remaining Sharingan (transplanted) seemed to penetrate the darkness, passing through time and space to reach that prosperous village.

"Hashirama, I will prove to you that the path you chose was utterly wrong."

"My head... hurts so much. Where... is this?"

In the darkness, a pair of eyes slowly opened, seemingly unable to adapt to such a dim environment. After more than a minute, he could barely make out his surroundings.

Before he could speak, unfamiliar memories began surfacing and merging.

After several more minutes, he finally understood what had happened to him.

"Never thought this cliché transmigration scenario would actually happen to me."

Through the brief few years of memories that had merged into his mind, he had roughly guessed which world he had transmigrated into.

Villages, ninjas, Five Great Nations, chakra, ninjutsu...

Although this body was only 4 years old and came from a small village, some common-sense memories remained.

After reviewing those memories, he could easily deduce that the world he currently inhabited should be the not-insignificant-in-danger Naruto world!

As an ordinary '90s kid who used to read novels and watch anime, he was quite familiar with the famous names of the "Big Three" shonen manga. Naturally, he had watched the completed Naruto series from beginning to end.

What's that?

You say Naruto isn't finished?

EMMMMMM...

Sorry, but Boruto was truly unwatchable!! It destroyed his worldview, so forget it!

As for himself, before transmigrating, he was equally unremarkable, not some soldier king, not some great doctor or special agent. Just an ordinary '90s kid with divorced parents and a somewhat peculiar personality.

His last memory before transmigrating wasn't some cliché car accident, drinking himself to death after a breakup, or electrocution or any such nonsense.

Actually, it was quite absurd and unlucky. Just as 2020 began, before he could even celebrate the Spring Festival, after working normally for just a few days, he inexplicably caught a cold and was sent to the hospital.

But before he could figure out the situation...

The next time he opened his eyes, he was here.

How melancholic...

It seems transmigration methods are becoming increasingly casual these days, even catching a cold can make you transmigrate. No wonder those hack authors can only afford steamed buns without even pickled vegetables!

Fortunately, he didn't have many attachments. His divorced parents had each formed new families with new children. Even without him, someone would care for them in their old age.

As for romantic attachments, there was nothing worth missing. Since he was raised by his grandmother from childhood, and she had already passed when he was in college...

He'd had a girlfriend once. His savings over several years, plus borrowed money, over a hundred thousand total, barely covered a down payment. Unfortunately, after paying just one month's mortgage, he never got to live there.

After hastily reviewing his past life, he suddenly felt an indescribable sense of liberation. Perhaps changing to a new way of life wasn't so bad.

"From today onward, I shall live on with your name, Shinomiya Aoha."
