Chapter 9: The Terrifying Cannibal

1,555 Words

In the silent wilderness, Chris looked around.

With his keen eyesight, he could see traces of humanity in the distant jungle.

When Chris arrived, he saw a dilapidated church, with red roof and white walls, standing deep in the woods, surrounded by roosting crows.

They curiously sized up Chris, this uninvited guest, their eyes filled with a greed that did not belong to their species.

The eerie scene before him made Chris immediately realize that he had entered the world of a horror movie.

Of course, the reason for this feeling was that Chris was very familiar with the current environment.

He clearly remembered that he seemed to have seen it in a horror movie.

Next, he just needed to confirm if this was the world he knew.

After throwing down his gym bag, Chris prepared to look around to confirm his suspicions.

As Chris threw down his gym bag, a wave of regret washed over him.

If I had known he would travel through time again, I would have put some weapons in my bag so I wouldn't have to explore empty-handed.

However, it wasn't too late to know now. After we go back, we can make some preparations.

As for whether he could return to the world of the House of Jesters, Chris had no doubt.

Because he was now certain that what Stewie had said might be related to his time travel.

After all, he was a time traveler, and Stewie said it had awakened some talent in him.

Besides the ability to travel through time, what other talents did he have that would make a genius like Stewie pay so much attention?

Chris couldn't possibly have the ability to fart at will, could he?

Confident in his judgment, Chris slowly walked to the side of the church, carefully observing his surroundings. What he saw confirmed his suspicions.

Looking at the thick metal pipe in front of him, Chris sighed in frustration.

"D*mn! This is really the world of Jeepers Creepers, and I just happened to run into the monster's lair. What kind of luck is this?!"

Although Chris was convinced he had stepped into the terrifying world of the Creeper, he still walked to the metal pipe and looked down, just to be safe.

With his keen vision, Chris spotted some bone fragments.

A sour, rancid smell wafted up from the pipe into Chris's nostrils, further strengthening his belief: this was the world.

He still remembered some of the plot of that horror movie, which was roughly about a pair of siblings who accidentally discovered the cannibal's food storage process, and then the brother became the cannibal's target.

Unfortunately, he couldn't remember the specific details, only that the younger brother was very reckless.

Of course, he died in the end. Chris remembered that guy died a horrible death, having his eyes gouged out.

Recalling the general plot of this world, Chris turned to get his gym bag.

He remembered that this Creeper could only come out to hunt for 23 days every 23 years, but in the story, the Creeper had already been hunting for more than 10 days.

In a few more days, this guy would go back to sleep.

Therefore, Chris had no intention of provoking this powerful monster, which could fly briefly and had strong regeneration, lest he cause any trouble.

He planned to pack his things, find a car, drive far away, and then quietly wait to travel back.

After all, he was neither a reincarnator nor a system host, and he had missions he had to complete.

After thinking it through, Chris came to the front door of the church, put down his backpack, and then prepared to flee.

Before leaving, Chris checked one last time to make sure he hadn't left anything behind, as he knew the Creeper had excellent tracking abilities.

As long as you could smell someone's scent, you could find them even if they were dozens of kilometers away.

The younger brother was suicidal at the time, he took off his clothes, and that's how the Creeper found him and killed him.

Looking around and confirming he hadn't left anything behind, Chris prepared to leave with peace of mind.

As he reached the roadside and was about to choose a direction to leave, he heard the sound of a car passing by.

Then he looked towards the source of the sound, which was a peculiar-looking truck.

The truck was rusty and dilapidated. With Chris's eyesight, he could clearly see that there wasn't even a single piece of glass on the truck. It was like an iron turtle wrapped in metal.

Chris's expression changed when he saw the truck, because that was the vehicle driven by the Creeper.

"D*mn it, why did they have to come back at this exact moment!"

Gauging with his eyes that the vehicle was still two or three kilometers away, Chris turned and ran towards the ruined church.

With only his two legs, it was clearly wishful thinking to believe he could escape the Creeper's truck.

Therefore, the only possible way to get rid of the ogre was to hide in the basement where it stored its food supplies.

Only in this way, under the cover of the strong stench of corpses, could he possibly avoid being discovered by the cannibal.

After thinking it through, Chris quickly ran to the metal pipe, then leaped up and slid down the pipe into the basement.

With a thud, Chris's heavy body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Fortunately, he had a gym backpack to cushion his injury, and given his strong physique, he didn't sprain anything.

After confirming that he was alright, he got up and ran deep into the basement to avoid being discovered by the cannibal when he disposed of the body.

Before Chris could find a hiding place, he heard the sound of a car being turned off, followed by heavy footsteps.

Upon realizing that the cannibal had reached the top of the pipe, Chris held his breath and approached the pile of debris, trying to use the blood and grime of the severed limbs to mask his own scent.

Meanwhile, the ogre on the ground, in a cheerful mood, carried two pieces of food to the pipe.

Then he raised his hand and threw the two grain reserves into the basement.

With a series of heavy thuds as the object hit the ground, Chris knew it was the body that guy had thrown down.

If he remembers the plot correctly, the cannibal will then hunt down the brother and sister who accidentally witnessed him disposing of the body.

He could then take the opportunity to leave, and then decide whether to find someone to deal with the cannibal or to stay hidden until he returns, depending on his own will.

However, things obviously didn't go as Chris had planned, and unexpected events always happen.

The cannibal happily tossed his food supplies into the basement, only to find that his actions seemed to have been discovered.

Turning to look at the departing vehicle, the cannibal wanted to drive after it.

He noticed that there were some snacks he liked in the car.

But just then, the crows in the tree cawed strangely a few times, then the ogre's nostrils twitched, and his expression changed drastically.

 "Hiss!"

The ogre's ashen face instantly contorted, and its fleshy wings unfurled, emitting a hissing sound.

Guided by the crows and through his own deliberate pursuit, he has discovered that there is another stranger here.

He took a long spear from the car and then quickly went to the iron pipe.

He wanted to see which fool dared to play hide-and-seek with him!

If it weren't for the psychic crow he kept reminding him, the little devil would have really escaped.

The ogre leaped lightly and nimbly into the metal pipe.

However, unlike Chris, he didn't fall directly; instead, he stood steadily.

Aside from Chris's excess weight, the monster's fleshy wings also played a role.

Even without unfurling his wings, he possessed extraordinary balance, which allowed the two to enter the basement in different ways.

After entering the basement, the ogre searched around. In the thick stench of decay, he could only rely on his eyes to find his target.

Fortunately, the basement wasn't large, and a quick look around revealed something suspicious.

The ogre raised his spear, his eyes fixed on his chosen spot, and then threw the spear with all his might.

Driven by the ogre's powerful strength, the spear shot towards Chris like an arrow from a bow.

Seeing this, Chris stopped fleeing, caught the spear flying towards him, and with a powerful push from his legs, leaped out of the pile of rubble.

&Moving; Seeing the spear shaft shake violently from the sudden stop, Chris flicked his arm to stabilize the spear, then spun it around to hold it.

"D*mn it, you think I'm some helpless ordinary person? My 400-kilogram bench press isn't just for show!"

Seeing Chris's blustering yet cowardly appearance, the ogre revealed a cruel smile.

He hadn't expected this guy to be so strong, and that his scent was surprisingly alluring!
