Chapter 41 - Pod

Under Noah's command, the star-class cruiser began an orbital bombardment of the Imperial World. Numerous lances of light were fired from the cruiser, directly targeting the locations of the Chaos Daemon Army.

Honestly, Noah truly couldn't understand why so many Warp daemons appeared here. How exactly did these guys show up?

While the cruiser continuously attacked the ground, the 400-strong Psionic Legion had also reached the drop pod locations and were then directly deployed by the cruiser.

Each drop pod could carry four Psionic Legion soldiers.

100 drop pods streaked across the sky like a meteor shower, trailing dazzling flames through the chaos-filled atmosphere.

The surface of each drop pod glowed with anti-Chaos runes, and inside, four fully armed Psionic Warriors were deployed.

"Impact in 30 seconds," the AI navigation system reported emotionlessly. "All personnel, prepare for impact."

The Psionic Warriors inside the drop pods silently checked their equipment.

Their nano-suits had switched to combat mode, psionic weapons were fully charged, and tactical visors constantly updated with battlefield data.

"Remember mission priorities," the captain of the first drop team emphasized over the comms channel. "Primary objective: establish a secure landing zone. Secondary objective: search for survivors. Only then is the annihilation of Chaos Forces."

When the first wave of drop pods slammed into the ground, the entire battlefield shook.

The moment the hatches burst open, the Psionic Warriors charged out like lightning, immediately establishing a circular defensive line amidst the smoke and dust.

"High-density Warp contamination detected!" A soldier's tactical visor flashed wildly. "Ten o'clock direction, Chaos Daemon Army is gathering!"

The arrival of the drop pods naturally caught the attention of the Chaos Daemon Army. After these drop pods landed, the surrounding Chaos Daemon Army began to gather.

Thousands of Nurgle Followers, covered in festering sores, lumbered forward, brandishing rusted blades and axes.

Behind them followed three bloated Nurglings. With every step, these daemons left corrosive slime on the ground.

"Eliminate the enemy! Wipe them out completely!" The Psionic Warriors uniformly raised their arms, psionic shockwaves condensing in their palms.

The next second, forty pure psionic beams erupted simultaneously, tearing a dazzling blue-white curtain of light through the Chaos Warband.

The struck Nurgle Followers let out piercing wails, their corrupted bodies rapidly dissolving like wax figures in a raging fire.

The most crucial aspect of the Psionic Legion was their powerful psionics. Unlike ordinary troops who rely on weapon power, the Psionic Legion's most important asset was their psionic attacks.

The defensive line formed by the Psionic Warriors was like an insurmountable steel Great Wall.

Every time they raised their hands, dozens of psionic beams tore through the battlefield, vaporizing swaths of the Chaos Daemon Army.

The corrosive slime of the Nurglings instantly vaporized into harmless mist upon contact with pure psionic energy, even purifying the filth on the ground completely.

"Second wave of enemies incoming! Three o'clock direction!" A warning came over the comms channel.

Hundreds of Khorne Berserkers, clad in brass armor, burst from the ruins, their chainaxes emitting a piercing shriek.

"Blood Sacrifice to the Blood God, Offer Skulls to the Skull Throne!"

These bloodthirsty warriors completely ignored their comrades' casualties, charging forward over the psionically charred corpses.

"Switch psionic mode," the captain calmly ordered. "Use 'Mind Blast.'"

The Psionic Warriors immediately changed tactics. Their hands clasped together, powerful psionic fluctuations forming a visible, distorted force field in front of them.

When the Khorne Berserkers charged within fifty meters, all four hundred Psionic Warriors simultaneously unleashed a mind blast.

Boom—!

An invisible psionic storm swept across the battlefield. The Khorne Berserkers' armor deformed and shattered in the shockwave. Their muscle tissue was pulverized, and bones snapped. With just one strike, the entire Khorne Warband was reduced to a bloody, mangled mess.

Undoubtedly, the Psionic Legion's combat power was formidable; they were absolutely overwhelming when facing ordinary Khorne forces.

Or rather, ordinary Chaos Daemon Army had no means of resisting these Psionic Legions, unless they relied on overwhelming numbers.

However, it was extremely difficult for the Chaos Daemon Army to gather their numerical advantage.

After all, there was a Federal cruiser, personally commanded by Noah, stationed in orbit.

As soon as the Chaos Forces showed any sign of large-scale gathering, a particle lance would immediately strike down, completely obliterating them.

This was the advantage of controlling air superiority in the interstellar era; ground forces were essentially helpless against a warship's orbital bombardment.

If they were ordinary Imperial Army, perhaps they could rely on orbital defense facilities to inflict some imperceptible, or even just energy shield-reducing, damage on the Federal fleet.

But now they were merely Chaos Daemon Army. These ordinary Chaos Daemon Army couldn't even penetrate the cruiser's shields.

The soldiers of the Psionic Legion began to expand outwards. They needed to clear a drop landing zone for the incoming troops, then await their own forces' deployment.

At the same time, they also had to carry out the governor's command to contact the surrounding Imperial Army.

They had to contact the remaining human resistance on this planet as much as possible.

The Psionic Legion could be said to be rampaging through the Chaos Forces, but such an overwhelming slaughter would eventually attract the attention of the Greater Daemon of Chaos.

After the Psionic Legion had eliminated hundreds of thousands of Chaos Daemon Army, their unstoppable offensive finally drew the true powerhouses of the Chaos Forces.

The sky suddenly ripped open with a massive, blood-red Great Rift. Accompanied by a deafening roar, a ten-meter-tall Greater Daemon of Khorne—Kha'zark the Blood Reaver—tore through the veil of reality and descended upon the battlefield.

"Pitiful ants!" The Greater Daemon brandished a burning great axe, leaving scorched footprints with every step. "You dare slaughter the blood god's warriors!"

"You don't even dare to draw your weapons and engage in a true man's duel with the blood god's warriors. You deserve to die!"

At the same time, another purple-black rift opened on the other side of the battlefield. The Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, Az'mort the "Tongue of a Thousand Faces," slowly emerged with dozens of Tzeentchian sorcerers, surrounded by swirling psionic lightning.

The Psionic Legion's communication channel was instantly jammed, and their tactical visors were briefly filled with static like snow. However, after five seconds, everything returned to normal.

"Two Greater Daemons of Chaos detected! Psionic Legion, prepare to form ranks and eliminate these two Greater Daemons! For humanity!"

The roar from the Psionic Legion rang out, and Noah also shifted his attention to the confrontation on the ground.

He wanted to see how his Psionic Legion would perform against two Greater Daemons of Chaos.

At the same time, Noah had already conjured a powerful psionic lightning bolt in his hand.

Although theoretically even the weakest Psionic Legion soldier could contend with an ordinary Greater Daemon of Chaos, it was clear that the two Greater Daemons below were not ordinary ones.

Should the Psionic Legion fall into any disadvantage, a powerful psionic lightning bolt would strike from his hand, completely eliminating the two Greater Daemons below.

Noah only had this 400-strong Psionic Legion at present; how could he allow the Greater Daemons of Chaos to destroy his army?
