Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Claire

Inside an off-road vehicle.

Lauren, sitting in the passenger seat, looked ahead anxiously. After a while, she asked the woman in the driver's seat, who was wearing sunglasses:

"Sister Claire, can you drive a little faster?"

"Enna, you've asked several times already, but I've got the pedal to the metal. It can't go any faster."

The woman called Claire replied with a somewhat helpless expression.

"Then how much longer until we reach the warehouse?"

"Don't worry, we're very close. We'll be there in about twenty more seconds."

"That's good... Sister Cipher, please don't let anything happen to you..."

Lauren, having received a reply, breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Only twenty minutes had passed since they left. With Sister Cipher's ability, she would definitely be able to hold on!

Twenty seconds passed quickly. Accompanied by the sound of braking and a sense of weightlessness, the car performed a perfect drift U-turn on the road section before stopping precisely to the left of the warehouse gate.

"We're here, let's get out."

With that, the woman was the first to open her door and exit, followed closely by Lauren, Jasmine, and Ethan.

'I want to see who this 'Cipher' person is, the one Enna begged me to save. You know, no matter how many times I offered my help before, Enna never accepted it...'

The woman thought to herself, then strode towards the warehouse gate.

But as she entered the warehouse ahead of the others, the scene before her made her freeze in place.

In the center of the warehouse, there was a small mountain of corpses, and not far from the corpses, a cat-girl leaned against the warehouse wall, looking at her with a somewhat displeased expression...

After dealing with the firearms and corpses, Cipher leaned against the wall, waiting for the car to arrive.

Not long after, she heard the sound of braking, followed by four sets of hurried footsteps approaching the warehouse.

Immediately after, she saw a woman appear at the warehouse entrance.

"Are you also from the Reverse Current..."

"Sister Cipher! You're alright!"

Before Cipher could utter the words "Reverse Current Alliance," a familiar figure also appeared at the warehouse entrance, interrupting her.

Then, under her somewhat surprised gaze, Lauren rushed over and hugged Cipher with both hands.

"Lauren? Why are you back? Didn't I tell you to leave first?"

Looking at Lauren in front of her, and then at Jasmine and Ethan who had arrived at the entrance, Cipher said with some surprise.

"I... I was afraid something would happen to Sister Cipher... so I immediately went to find someone to save you..."

Hearing her question, Lauren replied somewhat meekly.

Cipher didn't push Lauren away this time, but instead reached out and stroked her head with a hint of helplessness.

"I told you, this cat is very strong. Do you have so little faith in me...?"

"I'm sorry..."

Seeing Lauren's dejected look, Cipher was about to say something more when she was interrupted by an ill-timed exclamation.

"Hiss... 'Extreme Cold' Augie, 'Heavy Pressure' Ken, and 'Telekinesis' Alina from the Reverse Current Alliance... and 'Undying' Felix?!"

The woman listed their names as if reciting a menu, then began to examine their injuries.

"And judging by their physical reactions, all four of them used potential activation mediums, but even so, they were defeated with just one blow... Oh, except for Felix, he looks truly horrific."

When she saw Felix, she clearly made a gesture of covering her eyes, but it was more like a symbolic cover, with the gaps between her fingers as wide as the Great Rift Valley of East Africa.

After examining them, the woman dragged Augie and Felix out, then said to Lauren:

"Enna... it seems you really have no concept of the strength of this 'Sister Cipher' you asked me to save..."

Lauren was a little confused by this statement. She let go of Cipher and asked hesitantly:

"No concept?"

"That's right." The woman pointed to the pile of corpses that had formed a small mountain. "The people here are all from the Reverse Current, and these four individuals, two of them have B+ strength, and two have C+ strength."

"But even with that configuration, plus a bunch of people with guns, they couldn't defeat your Sister Cipher."

At this point, the woman took a deep breath, her gaze solemn as she looked at Cipher behind Lauren.

"Moreover, judging by their injuries, they were all instantly killed with one blow, except for that thick-skinned Felix."

"Lauren, do you know what this means?"

"Sis... Sister Cipher is very strong?"

Lauren tilted her head, answering somewhat hesitantly.

"Wrong!" The woman denied Lauren's answer. "She's extremely strong!"

"Even with my A-level strength, if I faced so many people at once, while I could win, I'd have to defeat them one by one, which would take at least half an hour."

Then the woman began to slowly shake her head with her hands behind her back, walking and saying:

"Instant kill with one blow... that's too terrifying."

"So... your Sister Cipher has at least A+ level strength!"

With that, in Cipher's eyes, the woman seemed to teleport directly in front of her.

Before she could figure out what this woman was up to, the woman directly squatted down, then took Cipher's hand, looked up at her, her eyes filled with respect.

"My name is Claire, Boss! Please take me under your wing!"

"...Huh?"

...Inside the off-road vehicle, Claire was driving, Cipher sat in the passenger seat, and the three members of the Spark Team sat in the back.

As for Felix and Augie, they were thrown into the trunk.

Because according to Claire's description, these two were only severely injured and not completely dead, so they still had value.

"My apologies, my apologies. It's been too long since I've met a powerful and approachable boss. I couldn't help myself and instinctively wanted to latch on."

Claire gently scratched her cheek while apologizing with an awkward smile.

Cipher, however, continued to stare at Claire with a strange expression. She felt that this woman's brain might be a little off, more or less.

After some thought, Cipher asked with some confusion:

"Why do you say I'm approachable? This is our first time meeting, isn't it?"

"Enna told me!" Claire smiled. "When I was driving to help you, Enna kept telling me how good you were. Just by listening to her description, I immediately knew your general personality."

"However, when I heard her description, I thought you were at most B+ level. I never expected you to be an A+ level boss!"
