Two months later, Cid tracked a group of kidnappers who had taken several girls from the capital.
He struck silently in the night black flames and silver light cutting through their ranks.
"Bandits, nobles, cultists… doesn't matter," he said coldly. "Your lives and your money are mine now."
When it was over, he broke the chains and found one of the captives… his sister, Clara.
For the first time since his rebirth, his calm cracked. His power exploded, shadows roaring like storms. He slaughtered every last one of them no mercy, no hesitation.
By dawn, Clara was home, safe never knowing who saved her.
