"I remember you asking that question but there is no known record of someone increasing their level of attunement." said Lune.
"I see." Pyralex said with a smile.
"But Lune." Pyralex said, staring Lune straight in the eyes.
"If your level of attunement could be evolved, would you let it be recorded?" asked Pyralex.
"No." Lune said shaking her head.
"Just a rumour of someone being able to accomplish that would plunge Alvonia into chaos, talk less of hard proof." Lune said and Pyralex nodded.
"I am glad you understand." Pyralex said looking off into the distance and momentarily forgetting that Lune was there.
Shaking his head to dispel his thoughts, Pyralex said "Let's put evolving your level of attunement behind us."
"Now answer this-" Pyralex said with a smile.
"If your attunement level is decided from birth, do you think someone with low level attunement will be able to use a weapon like mine at will?" Pyralex said smiling.
"No." Lune said in a defeated tone and Pyralex smiled at her fondly.
"Even if they practiced to be able to use all four blessings, whatever they try to do will only be at their level of attunement. A low level attunement to the water spirit despite having access to this weapon will only be able to do things that are done by people with low level attunement to the wind, fire and earth spirit." said Pyralex.
"Yesterday, I said that a comparison between a person of high attunement to the blessings of the spirits and a person of low attunement to the blessings of the spirits might be too wide of a comparison but what about a comparison between those with high attunement with the blessings of the spirits and those of medium attunement with the blessings of the spirit?" Pyralex asked with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Their powers might be of a similar range but there is still a large difference between making independent clones of yourself and being able to form mirages." said Lune.
"Really?" Pyralex said, sitting back in his chair and waving his hands for Lune to go on.
Knowing that he wanted to test her knowledge, Lune took in a breath and said " People with high attunement to the spirit of water can make independent clones that have the same attack power and the same knowledge of battle as the host while a mirage is just a duplicate of the host's reflection."
"Then if you were someone blessed with the spirit of the earth, how could you tell the difference?" Pyralex said, sitting up in his chair.
Lune sputtered before saying. " You could tell by waiting-"
"Waiting in the middle of the fight?" Pyralex asked and Lune felt shame at saying something so stupid.
"You and I both know that it's impossible to wait during a fight." Pyralex said with a disapproving stare
"Give me a better answer Lune." Pyralex said and Lune gulped.
Trying to think of what to say, words tumbled out of Lune's mouth.
"A mirage is a perfect reflection caused by the mist. The people blessed by the spirit of water turn their water to steam and bend it to create mirror images of themselves." said Lune.
"If those with medium level attunement to the spirit of water can bend steam to create mirror images then how would someone who isn't blessed by the spirit of water be able to tell that they are facing a mirage?" Pyralex asked patiently.
"The heat." Lune said nodding to herself.
"You need a considerable amount of heat to be able to create a mirage." Lune said and Pyralex began to smile again.
"But what if the opponent wears armour?" Pyralex asked and Lune faltered.
Thinking of what to say, Lune opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of water. Seeing this actions Pyralex chuckled softly.
"It's alright if you don't know the answer yet." Pyralex said, leaning backwards.
"Its a surprise you know this much without having any formal education on blessings or sparring with children of the other blessings." Pyralex said, sitting up once more and placing his hand on Lune's head.
"You are doing great." Pyralex said, patting Lune's head like a dog.
With her face burning red from the unexpected compliment, Lune turned her head sideways.
Seeing her reaction, Pyralex chuckled before saying "One more question."
"Why do you think the academy was built?" asked Pyralex.
"The Academy was built to understand the blessings and their full potential and to diminish the growing bestiae outside of Alvonia." Lune said with certainty.
Smiling with the same smile he always wore right before delivering bad news, Pyralex said "You're right and wrong again."
