Maya's POV
"Timothy is dead." I stare at the video. The blood. The gunshot. The finality. "Robert killed him. Murdered him on camera."
"We need to shut down the foundation," Ethan says. "Now. Before more people die."
"No. That's exactly what Robert wants. He wants us to stop helping victims. To abandon them like James did."
"Timothy is dead because he helped us! How many more people have to die before you realize this is too dangerous?"
"Zero more. Because we're going to stop Robert before he kills anyone else."
Detective Morrison arrives within the hour. Watches the video. His face is grim.
"This is a terrorism case now. Robert Chen is leading an organized group. Armed. Dangerous. Planning attacks. The FBI needs to be involved."
"How long to find him?"
"Could be days. Could be weeks. These men know how to hide. They learned in prison."
"We don't have weeks. Robert said he's coming for my children next."
