"I'm not going to the midnight meeting." I delete the anonymous email. "It's obviously a trap."
Ethan looks relieved. "Good. You're finally being smart."
"But I am investigating Judge Morrison. During business hours. With lawyers present. Legally."
"That's still dangerous if he's really corrupt."
"Then we be careful."
The next morning, Catherine helps me file official complaints. Request investigations. Demand reviews of Judge Morrison's cases.
"This will take months," she warns. "The legal system protects its own. Judges especially."
"Then we go public. Media. Social media. Make enough noise that they can't ignore us."
"That's risky. If Morrison is innocent, you're destroying his reputation."
"And if he's guilty, we're saving innocent people from prison. That's worth the risk."
I call a press conference. Stand in front of cameras. Microphones everywhere.
