The two girls waited patiently, the road was empty, while on both sides was an unending vast of sand.
Zaya stood close to Nyx.
"Stay alert!" Nyx yelled as a half breed dragon fell from the sky, The dragon's body adorned with white spikes, a terrifying smile plastered across his face and a necklace with a red gem strapped in the middle, dangled on his neck.
Zaya's gaze fell on the gem, realizing it was the magical stone that signified Zoey as a member of the fox clan.
Nyx then asked, "where are the other fox gems?
You worthless dragon."
The Viking was enraged, fed up of their continuous disrespect, "how dare you speak to me in that way, he yelled.
"We've been sent by the alpha commander and the mayor of the phantom city," and that's more than enough authority to speak to a weak dragon.
"How dare you!"
The Viking screamed in anger, he was annoyed at the fact that they hadn't sent any of the foxes who had fought in the war earlier.
"What is this insolence?" "Between me and you, who do you think is he prey?"
He then cackled hard, "I will destroy you humans and tear you limb from limb," "I'd like to see that happen" Nyx said as she grabbed hold of the handle of the bike breaking it and simultaneously throwing the remnant part towards the viking.
The Viking moved from his position, dodging the incoming bike, he then spoke suprised, "you are a little stronger than I have anticipated."
"I promise to do you both the pleasure of killing you quickly snarled the Viking as he was about to launch for an attack.
Nyx stretched the handle in her hands towards the viking, Zaya saw Nyx's body vibrate continuously and in an instant, the upper four exploded.
Sending white spikes flying around the whole area, Zaya gasped in shock as she stared at the remains of the spiky viking.
"How did you do that?" Asked Zaya still shocked
"Speed," answered Nyx calmly
Both of them began walking towards where the dragon had stood earlier. The red gem was on the ground, Zaya reached for it, while Nyx stood beside her watching.
Zaya perceived something strange, the gem wasn't glittering, it was also lighter than usual. An image flickered from the top of the gem, it was that of the viper viking.
It was a message, that had been attached to the red gem, the Viking then began to speak.
if you're seeing this message, it means you have successfully defeated the fifth most powerful dragon.
"I know this is not a feat that can be achieved by any mere human. So I'm certain it's you, Zaya and Nyx. I would have sent millions of my soldiers towards that battle."
"But we've got a hint on how we can finally stop you foxes for good. We now know how to find the diamond stone that holds Edeth's gifts. If that is destroyed it would be the end of the fox clan."
The message then stopped, there was a ticking sound coming from the red gem, Nyx and Ashara transformed to their fox form as they both leapt away from the scene.
The gem exploded.
"That was a close one" said Zaya wiping sweat of her forehead, "That was not the right gem, am I right?"
"Yes" answered Nyx, the Viking will never leave something so precious lying around.
" All this," said Zaya, "just because of Edeth."
"What do you mean?", Nyx asked confused." If they hadn't discovered a clue on finding some stone which contained Edeth's gifts."
"The war would still have continued till now," Zaya muttered sighing deeply, "That is indeed true" answered Nyx smiling warmly.
"She also did us the glory of banishing magic from our realms to keep all of us safe."
*So will you teach me the ancient technique?"
Asked Zaya politely.
"Nyx then laughed, "The technique can only be learnt, not taught."
"What do you mean?"
Zaya asked.
Nyx begun explaining, "when I hadn't gotten my memories, I couldn't perform the ancient technique."
"I was just a little girl who cherished nature and had lived in the hills of zenoa along with my parents."
Later on, the marine virus struck and began turning humans into animals.
"Two years later I was found, under the mountain caves, they tried to heal me but they realized their healing had no effect."
"I was then held captive."
I stayed in the prison for months, on one fateful day, I escaped into their kingdom, where I found a book, which contained the history of the great fox clan.
"I learnt a lot and that helped in triggering my memories back."
"The skill you saw me do in the mountain caves was just mere desperation of me trying to safe you."
Since I had sneaked into the priestess room to read the foxes book, I was locked in the dungeon by the guards, i later escaped and became a spy, the book was burnt by the reptilians, but I remember a few stories that could help get your memories back"
Wow, said Zaya as they both walked back to the city through the lone road, "will you tell me this short yet wisdom filled story?"
Asked Zaya.
"Yes I will Zaya," Nyx said.

Nyx's short story.
It was barely a few months since the great stones had been stolen from the foxes clan, Edeth Nyx and her six other allies, Gwenneth,Olivia, Anissa, Ronine, Lydia and Odeth, went on a final face off with the vikings.
Unknowingly to Edeth her sister Odeth was on the side of the dragon clan, On the way she betrayed Edeth bannishing her to the infinite realms.
Even in this dark and chaotic realms, Edeth's triumphed, fighting against gods and magical creatures for two whole centuries.
It was there she stumbled upon a realm which had been merged with earth, meeting the ancestors of Korin, she then granted them one of her gifts as a reward for helping her return to the earth realm.
On returning to earth, Edeth wanted nothing but revenge against her sister for disgracing the fox clan and betraying her.
She killed millions in the dragon clan in a matter of seconds purging the earth.
Edeth was sure to destroy the whole of the dragon clan that day, but she resorted to visiting the fox abode first before making any rash decision.
Where Edeth learnt two hundred years had passed, she was conflicted, she had instructed those from Korin's realm to send her to a timeline on earth.
Apparently that didn't work, Enraged, Edeth vanquished what was left of the dragon clan, it was said to be the greatest purge in the history of the infinite realms.
Knowing that a few dragons hid Edeth bannished magic from the realm.
Amongst the few was odeth with eleven dragons she had kept secretly.
Odeth was originally a witch and had endowed both herself and the eleven mighty dragons to live forever. Luckily for them their immortality didn't ware off.
Zaya gasped, "Are you saying?"
"Yes I am Zaya," answered Nyx, "Odeth still lives till today."
