Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Unwanted Trouble

House of Members, Prime Minister interview

Lights. Cameras. Journalists, and reporters. The front of the building of the House of Members lined the many, waiting, expectations rushing and interests piqued. Places held for such importance meant no better than the House of Members. Old and still standing the test of time, generational leaders, those among high and low, take the utmost respect and voice the nation's issues there. Solving, reducing stress, and announcing urgent talks was all done at this house.

Everything started fast when the prime minister stepped up the podium on a high platform. Flashes and flashes of light emitted from the cameras. Crowded, they stand to speak their mind of current issues and questions. When the prime minister was about to start, they were all told to quiet down and listen before anyone had the curtousy of speaking.

The cameras still operated, the prime minister began. He started off, "Good morning, the people of Keil," he simply greeted.

He then proceeded to talk about the recent topic among everyone's heads this morning, without taking any liberty of annoyance or wasteful time spending.

"It has come to my attention that people, workers, that have worked at the Gronti Mining Site experienced an incident that has claimed the lives of many."

As viewers tuned into watch, at home, at pubs, or at the shop, their was silence in the air, "The cause is still unknown but we expect it to be a massive earthquake that collapsed the tunnels. Those that have made it alive are being treated, injured or severely wounded. As the prime minister of this country, I grief with you. To all the family and friends that know of the workers at Gronti Mines, know that we are doing everything to help support and recover from this incident."

The prime minister flipped a paper.

"There is also, ANOTHER topic I have come to address," the prime minister said.

And that was when everyone's eyes and ears - listened and watched. He is going to address about the video that hit viral globally first, then hit the shores of the country's backyard like a chain of reactions one after tge other. It was the video that garnered more than a billion views in a single day. A video so unexplained, the Internet and media were covering it left and right (each sources coming up with their own speculations and theories).

It seemed no one was missing out on that video. From young to old, the whole world knew at the very instant when the video was uploaded. No one was out of reach and escaped to view the video.

The prime minister continued. "On the date after the incident at Gronti Mines happened, a video surfaced and was covered by the American broadcasting station, Tell. On that video, the footage gained worldwide attraction showing that the incident was caused by something else. A monster, is something the Internet has named it."

He inhaled and exhaled. He toned his voice to sound strong and provoked, "To all those that have seen the video, I can assure you that this video is a fabrication to stir trouble and plant more pain. We hope for the benefit of doubt that this does not produce violence in any way...." The prime minister added more details and other concerning matters until it is done.

Then came the part of asking questions from the journalists and reporters.

The first journalist asked, "Mister Prime Minister, there has been circulating rumor that the video is legitimate as proven by the environment of gronti and the visual faces of people, can you confirm on that?"

"No, I can not," the prime minister answered.

The interview went on for sometime as multiple journalists asked various luring questions, one after the other.

~~~~~~
The view panned out of a TV screen. In actuality, the interview was a replay just 20 minutes after the real interview had ended. On the screen, it was a clip from the interview and that four news anchor debated over the prime minister's responses. They talk lightly as if it isn't real.
Watching from the side, a tall and muscular man of black skin color changed a pair of suits. He wore an undershirt and changed. As he did, he heard a knock twice in a row on the door.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Come in!" The black man said.
The door knob squeezed and turned. The man that entered the room is a young and experienced lad. He is also a man working under orders from an important figure. That important figure being the black man himself.
The black man is the vice prime minister, and the young lad is his assistant (something like that) and a security agent as his other job.
The young lad bear with him important news.
"Sir, if you let me speak," the young lad asked.
"You may," the Deputy Prime Minister said. He straightened his collar.
"I have just arrived from meeting with another of our agents. I have papers here regarding the details of occurrences that have happened in the last 6 months, and papers that need your approval if we are to go with investigation..."
"Yes," the deputy prime minister said.
"....there is also papers from Hu Laboratory suggesting significant spikes in abnormal readings..."
"Yes," the deputy prime minister repeated.
And when the young lad said another thing, he replied only with a yes.
"Sir, this is nothing like we have never seen before. THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW!"
The prime minister turned around as he was looking out of the window and walked to the young lad.
"That is reasonably just, but I have to decline," he said.
The young lad, confused, reached out in frustration. "What!? What are you -" then he saw the prime minister pick his briefcase.
"I'm sorry about this Max but there has been changes to our arrangements."
"But this is important, unc-"
"Agent Domeheart, I word of silent if you will!" The prime minister exclaimed then slowed down. "I'm sorry it had come to this. I know you can look after things from here, understood."
"Yes, sir," The young lad said in agreement, yet he was awfully sad and angry. He didn't show it - he held it with - as the prime minister passed through him.
The prime minister opened the door and closed it afterwards. He was led by a group of agents and the young lad was left in the room.
"Damn," the young lad cursed.
Max stood for a while and then walked to the one of the windows. He could see the deputy prime minister exit the door and walked up the helipad where a big private helicopter waited for his arrival. He watched him get in and the helicopter's turning blades could be heard even though he was in the building. The helicopter lifted and flew away.
~~~~~~

Max walked out of the room. He entered the hallway and made his way out of the building and into the parking lot. He unlocked his car and hopped on, inserted the key to ignite the engine, and drove to the exit gate.

There were security guards at the point of entrance/exit. Max didn't need to worry. The guards knew it was him, but just for security purposes, Max pulled his identification card out and handed it to the security guard. The guard took a good glance, which he nodded and handed back the identification card with approval on his face. The barrier was then lifted.

Max drove out and into the main road of the city.

The sky's face thickened with gloomy clouds, drizzles of rain fall lightly. The sun is barely seen through the clouds. Down on the city, there are less people on the sidewalks and many to little shops open for business hours.

Driving his car, his eyes on the road, Max couldn't keep his eyes focused.

The documents of papers that he compiled lied alongside him on the opposite seat. He took smaller glances at the papers and back to the road.

'I really hate that I have do this myself. What a let down!' Max thought as the car kept on going and going and he took a detour to the right.
