Chapter 14 - Whispers That Break Hearts

Chapter 14: Whispers That Break Hearts

Shadows linger where light once danced,

Trust falters on trembling hands,

What seemed unbreakable

Now drifts like drifting sands.

The morning sun didn't feel warm. It felt heavy.

Clara sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone, her chest tight. Every laugh she had shared with Johnson now seemed like a lie. Every promise, every whispered word, suddenly twisted into doubt.

"Why… would he do this?" she murmured, scrolling through the fake messages. Her fingers trembled, her heart ached.

Across town, Liona's eyes were glued to Nelson's phone. The wallpaper — Criselda's smiling face — haunted her. She had laughed at first, dismissed it as a joke. But now, each glance at him felt like a lie waiting to be exposed.

Peter tried to reach Sonia, but she avoided him, her voice cold over calls. "I… I need space," she said, clutching her phone like it had betrayed her too. The fake video replayed in her mind, looping in every shadow of doubt.

Jayson watched it all unfold, leaning back in his chair, a satisfied smirk on his face.

"They think they're untouchable," he muttered. "But hearts are fragile. One lie, one whisper… and they'll crumble."

Meanwhile, the girls who had sown the chaos — Nina, Criselda, Cresanta — met in secret, their smiles wicked.

"This is just the beginning," Cresanta said. "Soon, the perfect six will fight amongst themselves, and we won't even have to lift a finger."

Nina nodded. "It's amazing how easily they fall for a little doubt. Imagine what comes next…"

The first cracks had appeared. And as the day went on, tension replaced laughter. Arguments sparked over the smallest things: a missed call, a late reply, a misunderstood word.

Even Johnson, Nelson, and Peter could feel it — something was wrong. Something invisible yet suffocating. The six who had once been inseparable were beginning to drift apart.

And in the shadows, Jayson grinned.

"They won't know what hit them," he whispered.

The seeds of betrayal had grown roots. And soon, no one would remember what perfection ever looked like.
