Chapter 1 – Crossroad and First Step

"Clara! We're running late! You'll be late on your first day!"

"Relax, Mom! I'm almost done!" Clara called from her room.

A few minutes later, she stepped into the garage. Her mother turned, eyes widening.

"Whoa… look at you! My baby just turned into a whole queen," Miss Jasmine said proudly.

"Stop it, Mom. You're doing too much," Clara replied with a shy smile.

"Nope. You're glowing. DreamLight Senior High won't even know what hit them."

"I wish I felt that confident."

"What's wrong?"

"I just… miss my friends. Liona, Johnson… It's been so long."

Miss Jasmine's tone softened. "Sweetheart, the people meant for you always find their way back one way or another. Now come on, we've got a school to conquer."

Their car glided through the city streets, skyscrapers glittering in the morning light. When they stopped, huge silver gates opened slowly to reveal a campus that looked like something from a dream.

DreamLight Senior High.

Glass buildings shimmered in the sun, fountains danced at every corner, and holographic screens flashed: Welcome to DreamLight — Where Brilliance Shines.

Students in sleek uniforms hurried past, laughter and excitement filling the air.

"Whoa… it's like a paradise," Clara whispered.

"Paradise for smart kids—and you're one of them," her mother said with a smile.

Clara stepped out of the car, adjusting her white blouse and royal-blue pleated skirt. Her fitted blazer hugged her shoulders perfectly, and a pastel-pink backpack hung off one strap. Her curls bounced lightly as the wind brushed her face.

"You look perfect, Clara. Own this moment," her mother said warmly.

"You're embarrassing me, Mom."

"It's my job. Now let's meet the principal."

Inside the principal's office, the scent of lemon polish mixed with new paper and quiet background music.

"Miss Jasmine! It's been ages," said Mr. Flex, standing to greet them. "And this must be Clara—finally."

"That's her," Miss Jasmine said proudly. "My pride and joy."

"Good morning, sir," Clara greeted politely.

"Oh, none of that 'sir' talk," Mr. Flex said with a laugh. "You can call me Dad if you want."

Clara smiled. "Okay, Dad."

"That's better," he said with a grin.

Her mother chuckled. "Alright, I'll leave you two. Clara, remember—breathe, smile, and shine."

"Got it, Mom. Bye."

When her mother left, the room suddenly felt larger and quieter.

"So, what happens next?" Clara asked.

"Orientation week," Mr. Flex explained. "No classes yet—just meeting people, learning the ropes, and selecting prefects."

"Prefects already? That's fast."

"That's DreamLight—fast, bold, and first-class."

He slid a sleek digital form across the desk. Clara filled it out quickly, then handed it back.

"All set," he said. "You're in Class S2. Welcome to DreamLight, Clara."

"Thanks, Dad."

The hallway stretched out before her—wide glass corridors glowing under soft white lights. Students hurried by in small groups, their voices echoing faintly.

Clara walked slowly, clutching her bag strap tighter.

New school, new life… but why does it feel so familiar?

She turned a corner—and froze.

A girl stood a few meters away, holding a stack of books. Same height. Same brown eyes. The same face Clara thought she would never see again.

Their eyes met.

Neither spoke. Neither moved.

Just silence.

Two old worlds colliding—right in the middle of DreamLight Senior High.

To be continued…
